Nurgle's Rot

Post by kadu-c »

When a player is killed by a Beast of Nurgle, can I use the Regenerate skill or my apothecary to avoid being turned into a Rotter ?
Thanks for your answers. :)

Yes, a killed player is only considered dead (and therefore eligible to be turned into a rotter) when he hasn't been saved by regeneration or an apo.

Under LRB 4.0 the apo/reg roll is done immediately after the CAS, so it's part of the resolution of the injury.

Hate to indulge in thread necromancy, but this question came up recently.
Logically, it doesn't make sense for Rot to trigger the chance to apo or regen. Instead of getting a "dead" result on the injury table, the player gets the "Rot".

Incorrect. The player must be dead at the end of the match for the Rot to work .... so he definitely gets his chance to use Regeneration or Apothecary.

I was preparing an argument for not allowing apo or regen to prevent the Rot, until I realized that it's just a game. Fair enough, Galak.

sorry for resurrecting this thread again, but do defensive kills also count (ie the player is being blocked, rather than actively blocking or fouling)?

Yes. If the block that killed them was against a player with Nurgle's Rot then they become a Rotter if they are dead at the end of the match.
