Frenzy and "Double Down"... huh?!

Post by Digger Goreman »

I was checking, for the umpteenth time, through the skills descriptions and came upon a curiosity:

Frenzy: blah, blah, blah.... If a "Pushed" or "Defender Stumbles" result was chosen, the player must immediately throw a second block... blah, blah, blah....

Ummmmmm, what about a "Both Down" result when the frenzied player and the opposition player have Block?! I've always played it that I have to throw the second block... but... hmmmmmmmm....

Is this a typo?

No. No pushing, no follow up, no second block.
With stand firm: No pushing, no follow up, but a second block.

Reading my sig was by about three seconds of total waste of time.

Only if you get a "Push" or "Defender Stumbles"... not "Both Down"

Yes, and I think the skill fend also cancels out frenzy.

This may seem like a dumb question but....
Can I choose to throw the second block?
Or am I forced to stop?

Your forced to stop. If you could throw it, you would be force to.

And remember you are allowed to Go For It to get the next block if movement ran out.

Hmmmm, let's see if I'm straight on this... If my were with block throws a block and gets "double down" on a blitzer with block... then my frenzy is canceled?! That could be bad....

But if you have "juggernaught" a both down result can be treated as a pushback result and then you could continue the frenzy.

Yep, both down means cancelled frenzy. Fend also means cancelled frenzy. In both cases, the solution is Juggernaut, as Draco pointed-out.

And yes, if you run out of movement while using Frenzy, you MUST GFI.

So then the question is, if you are a Frenzy player, and have juggernuant and block, get the "both down" result, are you "forced" to convert that into a push?

Unless a skill says you "must" use it, all skill use is optional.
