Dump-off, Safe Throw & Pass

Post by Alu-Cinator »

Hello dear players, 2 questions here.

My exemple.

Player A has the following skills : Dump-off, Safe Throw, Pass.

At one point during the game, an opponent declares a blitz.

When the opponent declares a block at player A, player A uses Dump-off and tries to make a quick pass at an eligible teammate.

Normal pass rules start to apply.

First, the interception. An opponent on the trajectory of the ball rolls a 6 and succeeds to intercept. Player A decides to use Safe Throw and makes an unmodified Agility roll. He rolls 6 and succeeds. The interception is cancelled out and the passing sequence continues as normal. Player A rolls the dice for the quick pass and the result is an inaccurate pass.

Question 1 : at that time, may player A use Pass to re-roll the dice ?

--

If the answer is "yes", let me continue the exemple.

So, player A rerolls the dice. The result is a fumble (but not a natural 1).

Question 2 : at that time, may player A use Safe Throw to keep hold the ball ?

Thank you.

I'd answer both questions with a definite YES.

then he gets blitzed wit the block, tackle, wrestle, stripball, mighty blow, piling on killer that not only knocks the ball out but sends your thrower to never-neverland.

skills aren't limited to one use per turn unless stated in their skill description. So, yes, you could use the skills as described.

Safe throw allows you to attempt to cancel out an interception, as a fumble isn't in any way an interception why would you be able to use Safe Throw to hold onto the ball?!!

Because

Safe Throw (Passing)

This player is an expert at throwing the ball in a way so as to make it even more difficult for any opponent to intercept it. If a pass made by this player is ever intercepted then the Safe Throw player may make an unmodified Agility roll. If this is successful then the interception is cancelled out and the passing sequence continues as normal. In addition if this player fumbles a pass on any roll other than a natural 1 then he manages to keep hold of the ball instead of suffering a fumble and the team does not suffer a turnover.

If it's an accurate pass that's caught by the intended player on your team yes. ( I love earning spps in my opponents turn with my Dark Elves. :) )
