Hi guys,
I'm happy more people have joined, great :)
Let me start by posting where I'm at currently:

0-16 60K Linemen 5338 stand firm G
0-4 90K Cossacks 5338 stand firm, grab, wrestle GS
0-2 80K Wings 6338 catch, pass block GA
0-2 70K Kickers 6338 kick, hail mary pass GP
0-1 ??K Trained bear 4419 tackle, mighty blow, loner, very stupid, - (?!)
ReRolls ??

I'm also not quite sure whether to go with this:
4 cossack +2 kicker + 2 wing + 1 bear
or
4 cossack, 4 wing, 1 kicker...(?) (no bear)
or maybe even
2 cossack, 2 bear, 2 wing, 2 kicker...

I'm a little surprised that the cossack is catching all this heat for having such "wonderful" skills.
If I remember right, Tripleskulls playtest team back in the day had 5339 block tackle. Simple. And very effective. Perhaps I should just give up on the marginal/gold-in-attic skills...?
I think we had that one at 90K.

Not quite sure whether to keep mine at AV8 - or snip a skill and bump to AV9.
One advantage of that is that I only want 1 position with 3 skills, and that would allow me to boost the kicker, who is an unusually weak positional. Yes, kick is neat, everybody likes kick, but once the kick-off is over and the drive begins, he is indistinguishable from a human lineman. Safe throw or sure hands might be nice for him.

Tripleskull - also about the blocker - I'm not so hot on dauntless. I'll keep low ST as a team weakness. They may be keeping the bear. But I'd like an exotic skill, or just the AV.


Ah, a few other points:
Catch Pass Block is again a very speciaized piece that most teams don't get...
True. Because nobody seems to think they're worth it.
When you have Kick, mass Stand Firm, and Wrestle Stand Firm Cossak's on a starting roster, I'm wary of Pass Block players who can pick up dodge and Diving Tackle on normal rolls.
But defense is all they do. They don't bash, and their offense is unimpressive.
Against many teams and many coaches, it's a dead combo.
I want it in, because it works well with HMP.
Usually, when you HMP, some schmuck runs in and throws it back. The wings would have a shot at preventing that :D

Nah. They're equal.
SF is better when you're strong and want to set up a block.
Fend is better when you want to get away. (Or if you fear PiOn).
I'm with Jural that Stand Firm is the second best S skill for an ST3 player
Wait. I thought that was grab :wink:
Perhaps in theory, but in practice I see a heck of a lot more guard, mighty blow and piling on around.
