Hi Garion,
I replied a bit more on FUMBBL.
But I guess I should say that:
a) Heck, put a skirt on it and call it Suzie for all I care. If you like it, use it any way you see fit.
That being said, if you did, I personally think the game would still lack a Bretonnian team.
b) One might argue that there is already I Nippen team. I'm told it's called the human team
c) Actually, I think a Nippon team might be even harder to get off the ground.
As of last we crunched the numbers in this poll, there were actually more people who wouldn't mind a Bretonnian list than there were people against it.
I've been asking an admin to do the numbers again, but I'm not getting a reply.
Cheers
Martin

Most people I have spoken to or that have seen this idea seem to like the idea of a nippon team instead of the bret team. It explains the ma8 and dauntless better, the theme is a lot cooler.
Also some people hate the betonnian theme because there is already humans that encompase all humans in the european countries (whatever that part of the world is called in warhammer)
The Zons come from south america (again dont know the proper name, lustira maybe?) Norse are russian i think?
So to me at least and the people i have spoken to about it it seems to work a lot better.
EDit: FYI 98/88 against according to the poll above.
It would be interesting if you did the poll again except rebranded the team to Nippon.

Yet again some brilliant people skills on display by Darkson. How to drive people away and alienate people.
Thats some pretty awefull posting from a moderator. IMO.
If your not interested in this post or thread, why post in it.

Hi Garion,
for the record posters were allowed to select multiple options. But only one was pro Brets.
I had an admin do the tally, and there was actually a majority for.
Cheers

Wow that surprises me.
I always thought the majority didnt like the bret thing.
How man leagues has it been tested in so far?

If you want a Brett team in your own league, go for it.
If you want a Nippon team in your own league, go for it.
if you want a lesser blue spotted wingless dragon team in your own league, then go for it.
FFS, if you want a Space Marine team in your own league, go for it - it makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE! There is no BBRC, there is no LRB7/CRPII due, there is no will from GW to make new models (without which a team can never be made official anyway [Slann, Underworld, Pact]).
You don't need 100+ posters to comment in a poll on what you do in the privacy of your own league, nor does getting 100+ posters to agree with you give you any more leverage over your commissioner and/or league mates.
We sure as hell don't need a poll saying "is this roster better called Brettonian or Nippon".

Why don't you just lock the thread?
I certainly don't mind, reading through this thing gets over lots of opinions, its one of those things that won't change. If left open I think this thread may just keep being necrod forver. Lock it and just use it as a example of the argument, not as the solution.

If you start a thread for Nippon, I'll start one for Cathay. We'll talk about the lack of eastern flail in Blood Bowl.

Plasmoid asked me to do one last head-count on the poll:
143 people voted in total.
88 voted: Wouldn't mind a Bret roster, if well designed.
That's 61,5% in favour of the concept of Bretonnians in BB.
