House Ruled Skills

In another forum topic Norse brought up a skill that Galak had in a PBeM league. I am not a fan of house ruled stuff usually, but I liked the skill.

Pitch Player - Any player with TTM can take this skill. It allows them to throw an opposing player with Right Stuff.

Two questions came to mind:
1. Does said BG player need to role something (agility maybe) to see if they catch Right Stuff player? (If so I don't see the BG getting to use this skill much.)

2. Are there other house ruled skills in use out there? What are they and why do you use/have them?

You'll find most of what you're interested in there.

We use two in our sevens house rules, "Relentless" and "Shorty", as part of a partial rewrite of some of the rosters. Full details of the NZCBBL house sevens rules can be found at http://nzcbbl.forumatic.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=16.

Shorty (E) [used on the dwarf roster] - no dodge modifiers apply due to dodging into tackle zones (note that all the dwarfs are AG2, however). Differs from stunty in that it doesn't modify pass attempts or injuries (note that dwarfs retain thick skull). They play as a very different stunty variant.

Relentless (E) [used on the "skeleton"/khemri roster, in place of regen] - if this player suffers a result of "badly hurt", place them in the KO box instead of the injured box. This player may attempt to recover in time to set up each drive exactly as if they had been KOd. The change was made to reflect 2nd Edition fluff about skeleton teams being carted off in droves but, with a touch of the apoth's magic sponge, all rising again for the next drive.

Check www.migardbb.com/Skills.html for the house-ruled skills used in the MBBL2 - there were a few, and it was good fun (along with the 80+ rosters).
Pitch Player is better than Norse remembers it, as it allowed you to throw any opposition player. :o :D
