Hi Dino,
Call Audible works about 1 in 3 games.
Stiff Arm works kind if like inverted-Horns, and has been playtested in MBBL2.
Cheers

So looking at the teams, here are the winners of such a rule change in order:

Big Winners:

Khemri.
If you put accurate on the Throw-Ras a quick pass would be come 3+ (with pass reroll), 3+ (catch).
Thats a 59,3% chance, 79% with a team reroll. A 4+ hand-off is of course 50% and 75% with a team reroll.

Underworld.
Being able to pull more elfish stuff seems up their ally and they need to take
advantage of having two throwers. Accurate on a thrower makes it a standard elf quick pass 2+,2+.

Humans.
Their 2turn offence just got better.

Smaller Winners:

Skaven.
You may still wanna have the Gutter Runners as ball carriers.

Minor winners:

Norse and Amazon.
You may actually see their throwers on the pitch

Orcs.
Their thrower is still shit compared to a blitzer with sure hands. -MV & - AV and no block is not good. Is too slow and weaker than the blitzer with block. There is a reason why 'Tank' is the highest rated NAF coach with Orcs. (He never uses the thrower.)

Dwarfs.
You may wanna take pass before kick-off-return or fend.

Dark Horse:

Chaos Pact.
You could make a thrower but why not just settle at clawpomb!

Vampire.
I have seen good use of Pass on a vampire if you get a double. Now it becomes just as good to throw it at your thralls.

Making the Pass skill better would make some teams a little better, but it doesn't seem to be power-house teams. I think it would be great to playtest.

i'm not in flavour of the changes proposed by plasmoid.

i would change the passing template somehow, and maybe change a bit the passing roll (instead of basing the passing roll on d6, why not on a d8?) to add more granulity here, and to increase a bit the range (and to make ag6 more relevant for passing...)

Hi Bakunin,
thanks for your detailed list.

Babass - duly noted. Could you tell me what it is about it you don't like. I'd like to understand.
Cheers

Would range modifiers count?
i.e. would a Long Pass not get the +1 because of it's inherent -1?

Eh?
It is a further +1 to the catch roll, if not a single negative modifer applies to the catch roll.
Clearer?

Sorry, my bad, was looking at passing modifiers!

I like that it doesn't affect the AG4 catchers. My feeling though is that I would rather more passes were attempted in Blood Bowl rather than more succeeding. I like that in the current ruleset a potentially game-changing move carries a high risk of failure. I wonder if there is anything else that can be done to make it more attractive without making it easier.

I think I have seen suggestions of +2spp for completions which might help. In the same vein you could also award a +1spp for catching. I was also just trying to think through the idea of allowing the catcher to have some control over scatter if the catch fails. e.g. using the throw-in template if you have the Catch skill or choosing to scatter again after first roll.

Like in the Canadian Football League (with longer endzone vs NFL) and they have only 3 downs... they pass a lot!

Hey Martin,

How about

Call audible works on a 4+

Stiff arm was great and not at all overpowered when I used it

To reduce the double turnover risk, how about

An accurate pass is only not caught on a 2 or a 1, but this also gives +1 to interceptions as it is perfectly smooth in flight

an inaccurate pass still has the base agility roll but the catcher gets the spp for completion and not the thrower

It would be interesting as inaccurate passes would not be immediate loss of possession although still a turnover

The change to accurate passing would not benefit Elves except on interceptions which could see passblock taken again. Oh and the 2+ was before modifiers

Call audible on a 4+ reduces its strength

Never had a problem with stiff arm like I said
