Dwarf Runesmith

Post by skwpp »

Ive been toyng with the idea to replace the dwarf alchemist with a runesmith, whcích would certainly be more in line with the warhammer world.

The idea is that the dwarf team gets to hire a runesmith for 50k per game, and during one of their kickoffs, the dwarfs replaces their ball with a ball that has had a rune inscribed. The effects of the ball stays until next kickoff, when it is replaced.

This is some of the runes i was thining about:

Rune of accuracy: During kickoff the ball doesnt scatter, just bounce. The dwarf team gets a +1modifier to pass.

Rune of stone: Players attempting to pick up the ball must roll on their strength instead of their agility, just like break tackle. When anyone is attempting to pass the ball, add one range (everyone throws like they got stunty).

Rune of vengeance: Select one player one the opposing team that has caused a casualty in the game. Place the ball on him. The player gets one chance to catch the ball, with a -2 modifier. If he doesnt succed, he is knocked over. Make an injury roll, ignore armor. Bounce the ball as usual.

The Runesmith was in one of the recent BB Mags (#7 or 8 iirc).

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Special Team Rules:
Instead of a normal wizard for 50k, the Dwarf team can freeboot a Runesmith. If you freeboot a Runesmith, roll a D6 at the beginning of the game and see what Rune he was able to cast for your team for this game only:
1=Runesmith Spell Fizzles! No effect!
2=Runesmith casts Rune of Speed. Player of choice gains Sprint and +1 MA for this game
3=Runesmith casts Rune of Might. Player of choice gains +1 ST for this game
4=Runesmith casts Rune of Dexerity. Player of choice gains +1 AG for this game
5=Runesmith casts Rune of Stone. Player of choice gains +1 AV and Stand Firm for this game
6=Runesmith casts Rune of Courage. Player of choice gains Dauntless and Frenzy for this game

Well call him Lablesmith, and you would have gotten an solution for Bloodbowl and not one for the Warhammer World ...

Would be very funny to have an coaching staff, that could evoke magic by putting magic lables of great companys on the parts (Well Grimbreath, I put this Orcidas-Lable of fast running on your shoes ... )

Hmm maybe many of you disagree, but that's just my personal taste of humor ... without this I could start playing chess

Dwarven Marketing-Agent? Well, that's actually not too far off from the old alchemist. They're both making money without selling a tangible product...
