Blood Bowl Boards

Post by Joshua Dyal »

I've been thinking for some time about mounting a board to a custom built hardwood frame, because the fold in my board is driving me crazy. I have just enough carpentry experience to perhaps pull it off and make something that looks nice.

The more I think about it, though, the more I think I'd rather not mount the actual board, but get a color print copy done on some thick paper and then attach it with wallpaper glue. And if I'm going to do that, why not go ahead and blow it up to 125% or so so it's not quite so crowded. Does anyone know what kind of place would do that for me?

Just remember to blow up your range ruler or it will no longer be accurate.

One of the guys in our league created a board of wood. Painted, burned, and carved it looks sweet! He so needs to put a pic of it up on our leagues site, but he hasn't.

Hey, Khrage, where exactly are the eastern wildlands of Texas? Beaumont? Vidor? ;) I'm a Texican who happens to be living a little North right now, so I'm always curious about home!

BTW, what exactly does your sig "Alea uacta est" mean? I'm not a real Latin expert, but I think the quote is as given in my sig. Unless there's some Latin joke I'm not getting, of course.

Hey, I wouldn't mind being in Florida right now.

Actually, the Michigan autumn is quite nice. Let me rephrase: I won't mind being in Florida in about two months!

But Texas is my real home, and always will be!

Howdy Josh.
Well for our league the easter wastelands are the badlands between Houston and Dallas, more specifically Huntsville. We run the Sam Houston State University (unofficial) Blood Bowl Conference. We have between ten and fourteen regular teams and we are currently in game five of our Spike Tournament. Our comish started the Eastern Wastelands thing and so far the few of us who post on here have followed his lead.

Instead of blowing up a board to a larger size why not do a twist on the old astrogranite board?

I crafted my own board out of squashed salami. However, when I played another halfling coach he ate the board when I went for a toilet break.

I couldn't blame him really, the salami was delicious. But I was annoyed that in his haste to eat it, he had swallowed all but two of my brilliantly painted minatures. He did give me the models back a few days later but I just couldn't bring myself to play with them!

In the end we reached a brilliant compromise, instead of crafting the board out of foodstuffs, we made the players out of savory snacks. Then when a player was killed he was summarily consumed by the opposing coach! This did lead to a few games though when the ball was all but forgotten about as we both tried to kill everyone on the pitch....

Anyway, my advice don't make the board out of squashed up salami..... maybe cheese would work better.....?

You'll be sorry when the effects of the funny fungi wear off.

Kinkos may or may not do it because of copyright laws. Your best bet is to go into Kinkos at around 3:00 am on a Wednesday or something. When nobody is around and you talk to the night supervisor you can get away with alot more.

There is a nice home-made-bb-board in one of the last ...

Citadel Journals. (48??)

The chap who made it just put (a lot of ) static grass on the board and sprayed on the lines with the little help of a mall (I think the word is)

You could use a grass mat as well, and depending on the teams you play you could make themed boards.

Again there's a nice example of an Amazon board in that particular Journal (49???)

I've thought for a long time that I would like to make a Blood Bowl figure case where the top is a BB field.
If I had any carpentry skill I would make it but I don't.
