Nicked it from Reddit, but think it was posted on a facebook page for GW or something
Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!

They had already said that was just for the mock-up box for trade shows (whether you believe that or not is up to you ).Regash wrote:And I'm really concerned about GW using more and more Cyanide graphics on their own releases...
But the ball on the orcs pic is also a Cyanide image...Darkson wrote:They had already said that was just for the mock-up box for trade shows (whether you believe that or not is up to you ).
Mabe that is hinting that 40K will also "suffer" something like Age of Sigmar...Darkson wrote:My main concern is that all the pics so far seem to be using 32mm bases.
As the game isn't due until next year it's possible (or indeed, very likely) that they don't have the artwork for it yet.Regash wrote:But the ball on the orcs pic is also a Cyanide image...
I (thankfully) haven't played 40k in years, and stopped following it around 4th edition, but I thought it had already moved to 32mm bases, or is that just for some units?Mabe that is hinting that 40K will also "suffer" something like Age of Sigmar...
EVERYTHING will be on 32 mm bases... Even tanks!
The mouth looks like "more teeth! no, MORE!". From seeing other miniatures, it seems the new style is more of everything and bigger, with shapes that only make sense if you don't pay attention at all. Muscles completly stupid, deformed shapes... but BIG. Maybe they hired Rob Liefeld, maybe they all went to wide screens at last and old references got stretched.Regash wrote:The mouth looks kinda strange...
This only confirms my suspicions that they were caught pants down and have been looking for anything to sell. They are also pushing old sprues (to "new" markets) and reimagining all kind of old games. And I'm really concerned about GW using more and more Cyanide graphics on their own releases...
Why changing bases? Becoming incompatible or just a side effect of the "wider than taller"? First case backfired and quick. Laser cut bases was one day thing, resin some days to get a 3D printed or milled master... even plastic appeared fast (yes, 32, I am not mixing this with old 30). Also extensions, not just new bases, so they created a new market for others. And as GW is so stupidly priced, the small companies are viable even if they don't have economies of scale.Darkson wrote:My main concern is that all the pics so far seem to be using 32mm bases.
It's actually the strange lips that look forbidden to me.Steam Ball wrote:The mouth looks like "more teeth! no, MORE!".
Maybe because they are Orruks.Regash wrote:The whole face is just... well... unorcish if you consider all those years where you got used to the GW orcs.
Loving the other teams too!PapyHarzen wrote:Not so impressive, here's a link for an Orc team I've made some years ago with the GW black orcs minis (mostly plastic ones):http://atemporels.fr/?page_id=436
Very easy conversions, minis on 25mm bases.
