Which only works *IF* they haven't changed the number of squares, which is something they can't or won't confirm.
So basically, you don't know anything about a game that isn't to be released for at least 12 months, possibly closer to 24 months but it won't stop you speculating and moaning about your own speculations?

Gotcha.

And yet thousands of people still play it. Because we like the game, and enough of our friends enjoy it that we can continue playing it.
Blood Bowl matters to people on this forum. I don't think it's irrational when a company with a terrible track record of ruining their games suddenly steps back into Blood Bowl after a decade and a half of pretending it doesn't exist. Maybe they'll knock it out of the park. Maybe it'll be terrible. We'll see.

We already have a nice thing.
So what's stopping you from playing the old edition if the base sizes or pitch size is different from what was their previously?

Right now all people are doing is bitching about base/board sizes which haven't even been confirmed and people are getting all pissy about because a picture on an online forum shows models that may or may not be slightly bigger than the normal ones they used to play with... geez.

If you're happy playing whatever GW put in front of you, great; for others, even just the (probable) model and pitch size change is a concern. Yes, I can happily play with the pitch and models I have, but what about the new players? As already shown here not everyone has access to tables that will fit bigger pitches, and if the new models are to big to fit on the old pitch (as seems likely)..

Absolutely nothing at all. It'll just be a massive missed opportunity, for both me and GW.
Right now all people are doing is bitching about base/board sizes which haven't even been confirmed and people are getting all pissy about because a picture on an online forum shows models that may or may not be slightly bigger than the normal ones they used to play with... geez.
You're right, nothing has been confirmed (although GW have posted on the Blood Bowl Facebook page that they "think" the scale is 32mm).

It's just a bad sign. I want Blood Bowl to succeed. I was hopeful when I heard that new people, a new CEO, new Specialist Games division, new releases of old games. This could be awesome.
But we've gotten very little information (already a red flag). The information we've gotten looks ambiguous and contradictory ("30 mm scale!" "No, we think it's 32 mm!" - on figures which they have already produced!).
Are the same people doing the Blood Bowl game as are running the Bugman's tournament for GW? They're not answering that. But whoever's running Bugman's seems to have no idea about Blood Bowl - It's LRB5! No, CRP! Wins don't matter! Star players can get skills!

So this is looking a lot like the "bad old GW". It looks like they're just going to randomly make a set of rules, with no feedback from players and minimal play testing. It really does look like they're changing the scale of the field and figures.

This isn't just speculation and it's not just a bunch of whiners who are scared of changes in the game. This is exactly what GW did with Warhammer Fantasy. And what they've done with 40k. They have spent the past two decades releasing poorly tested, often unbalanced games which, suspiciously often, make existing models obsolete. They've done so by changing the rules and by changing the scale. So is it irrational to worry that they'll give Blood Bowl the same treatment? Especially when all of the information that they have given us (admittedly, not all that much) seems to confirm that?

Related: Warhammer Quest has been Sigmarited, Lost Patrol avaliable soon too with sprues from other kits (artwork looks pretty much the same).

They really are in a rush to bring back or adapt old things. But it seems this time they send products for review. Posted so you have an idea of what they are doing and at what price.

Well the new Warhammer Quest and Death Watch Overkill were priced at $150 so it looks like the price point for the new BB set will probably be the same. Still hoping for less than $100 but that is probably a pipe dream.

Both of those come with 40-50 miniatures so I'd hope that BB would be cheaper since it won't likely have as many even if they do max out all positionals and have plenty of linemen.

Of course they could include a bunch of scenery items to bulk it out a bit, or if we're really lucky some the stars.

Good point, I had not considered the mini count in the game. Hope you are right and the price is less.

On a slightly related note I hope the Blood Bowl models can match the quality of those Warhammer Quest ones. The bad guys in that look really good as do most of the heroes.

I can see some nice potential Blood Bowl conversions from the beastmen and acolytes for either chaos or pact and the skaven deathrunner would make a great skitter.

Yes, it's on BoLS, no I won't re-post it here as it's mainly pics and few words, so if you don't want to go to BoLS I can't help you.
