HELP APPRECIATED! Need digital grid to design my own pitch.

Post by Saebelsultan »

Hey fellow Blood Bowl coaches!
I want to design my own pitches on the computer (customise logo and such) and then have them printed. I am far from brilliant using graphic programms, but usually I get where I want to. Except in this case. For the love of Nuffle I seem not to be able to generate a grid for the individual squares. So here is my question:

Is anybody willing to share an appropriate square grid with me? Do you have a template that I could use?

I usually use Photoshop.

I do not want to sell pitches (which would result in embarrestment on my part anyway)! I want to use it solely for myself!

Thanks a lot!

Try this:

1) View --> Show --> Grid (Make sure View --> Extras is on)
2) Preferences --> Guides, Grid & Slices
  • Set Gridline every ____ to 29mm and Subdivisions to 1
3) Set View --> Snap to on
4) Draw your grid to your heart's content (using the line tool, probably)

Make sense?

I've made a grid for BB7s in Inkscape. Can't find the full size pitch I also made, unfortunately. You could easily adapt yourself though. I can PM you the SVG.

I have a .DWG file with a pitch layout on it, would that be any good to you?

Thank you for the feedback, guys!
Nurgle struck me down yesterday, but as soon as my dizzy head allows I wil give your hints and files a go.

@Raveen: a *.dwg-file is from AutoCAD, right? Probably aboe my skills. Would it still be usable for myy intentions after converting it to a pdf-file? My guess is not, but I don't know.

I copy-pasted a full pitch again. Note that the teared edges effect is generated by the image program, so every cross on the pitch is unique.

Full (178 dpi) image here: http://postimg.org/image/bsevf0ytt/#codes. Image size 6857x4288 pixels. Can't upload the 300 dpi version, that's 10,000 :o pixels wide.

The image has an alpha channel, so in a web-browser you can hardly see the image.

This might be interesting for you if you're printing your own field

He printed the fields for the Dungeonbowl and he plays in our league.
I'm sure he'd help you out

Pluisje set me up with a very good grid.

It took me a while, but I have come up with my own BB7's pitch. Now I can't decide on the Scatter Template design...

Thank you very much community!
