Nope.
But time for a rant about shitty quality of very expensive products.

So instead of crowdfunding like other companies, GW does crowdtesting (and it seems crowdproofreading too)? :puke: And the crowd pays for it! :pissed:

This kind of thing really irritates me. If fantasy flight had bought out all the specialist games instead of just talisman you know they would have made a water tight rule set (although their business model would have been a downside)

GW have quite a few staff, there is no reason why they can't get the bugmans bar staff and warhammer world shop staff to look over things when it's very quiet. Or game designers should at least be checking each others work.

Rhetorical question: did anyone really think granny gave a skaven's arse bout anything but your money?! What a "foul" up... and ya'll was warned....

Oh man, can you imagine the backlash against GW if they tried crowdfunding? Other established companies have tried, and for the most part get savaged online by people who think they are just being greedy and using Kickstarter and the likes to avoid 90% of the risk.

I understand that some of the veteran players of the game might feel a little disenfranchised with this version of the game - but the level of vitriol I have heard/seen is never going to help. This version was clearly made with the intent to get more people into the game, which I think is a great thing and will probably work. If the old school Coaches were open and supportive of the new blood, I can't see a reason why the Vets. couldn't say "So you are enjoying the game? Well, this is the way it is played Competitively - it's a little different, but more rewarding/skillful/fun/etc..."

In my opinion, that really only works with computer games.
And they even found a better way to do it: Early Access!

Not only are you testing their stuff, no, you also pay for it! :pissed:

Companies start using the Internet as a very easily accessible ressource. Heck, over here in Germany, they only showed a short spot for the new Mini Cooper and put a link in where it said: "See the full story". Meaning they made a longer ad but won't pay for it to be aired! Everything computer related nowadays just require an online connection, no internet, no using. And they also release a lot of crap saying "we can patch that later!".

BB has been tested, I'm pretty sure about that. And, yes, the team working on it sure is an unexperienced team.
But GW is responsible for releasing quality products and so I don't see any reason why the boxed set shouldn't be thoroughly checked and double checked before going into print.
I kind of suspect that there is a law or something that makes you lose rights for an IP if you don't release stuff in so and so many years and this was just a quick shot to prevent losing the BB IP.
(Again, I suspect that, I'm probably completely wrong.)

I've worked for a german gaming company, more on the RPG side than miniatures, and whenever you buy one of their books, the PDF is not only free but also not copy protected.

Seriously? I have them in print and I'm supposed to buy them as a PDF again?

Makes me wonder if you get something that is corrected or still have to go wth the errata...

After the f*cked up printed rules, I at least expect a corrected and free PDF! :pissed:
I've been told that the digital versions of the rulebooks will be updated, but I don't have an ETA on that. GW has updated 40k Codexes in the past, so I believe what I've been told.

Patents (procedures, formulas, etc) are time limited; Copyright (books, films, etc) is also time limited, it just gets retroactively extended over and over so it has become forever (see extensions like Mickey Mouse Protection Act). Neither forces you to sue. Trademark (logos, brands, etc) means you must defend, or lose it. Those are more or less the general terms worldwide.

Though Andy Hoare has said he has no issue with people (and the NAF) using them, and they're not saying they won't return.

Wasn't that the reason for the group being 3 and not just 1? By mixing and converting all 3 are possible. :-?
