I truly hope that GW will collate all their rules (optional, experimental, crazy and legitimate) into one PDF or rulebook.

As a league commissioner, my sanity is being tested by league members asking if we will use this rule or that rule. I have been hard line so far with the CRP, but will allow Weeping Blades.

If there was a source document that was up to date with the optional/experimental rules added to the optional rules section, Life would be easier for me, veterans and new coaches alike.

Here! Here!

Not too stressed right now because we're in the middle of the season and haven't adopted the new rules yet, but assuming GW will do with BB what it used to do with WFB and 40K (new rules/units/erratas every other month), playing BB will quickly become a logistic nightmare...

I really really want this.

I would even give GW some of my cash if they did this.

Until this is done (hopefully it will) I have compiled a new league handbook for my league. I have sectioned changes/amendments into four headers: Core rules (CRP - BB2016), Death Zones, League Rules (House rules) and White Dwarf.
This makes it easier for coaches in the league to see what has changed, what is new and what new rules we wont be using (special cards for each game, etc...).

This would be so great. One of the underrated aspects of the CRP was that it made it very easy for new players to start Blood Bowl - download a PDF, buy a team, done.

"Buy a boxed set, then any number of DZ supplements, then buy your team and start getting stomped" will quickly start to turn off new players.

You already have a common rulebook.

It is called LRB6.

It is fun, complete, well tested and commonly used around the world.

Or, you could just allow some optional rules, ban others, and be surprised when someone shows up with the last untested and broken invention published in the WD.

really Manuel, you want to be sarcastic on a thread posted by a moderator.... really?

ok, well your comment is not helpful, so please refrain from doing it on this thread again.

the need for GW to issue a single source for rules is clear. you can think it stupid if you like but your comment makes you look foolish and ignores the need.

I would welcome a single book that has all the rules in it. Unfortunately I don't expect GW to release such a book soon. I see them releasing a Death Zone Season 2, then Season 3 and maybe after that they will have a combined book with all rules.
I do fear that all the extra "fun" rules and teams being released is muddying the water - particularly for new players and I have at least 15 rookie players that have started playing in my league. They are already asking questions about which rules to use, not all have the Death Zone book or seen the Teams of Legend PDF etc...
Just sticking to the CRP rules doesn't work either as they then get concerned about why the core rules as they know them from the starter set are being changed.

Excuse me? I didn't know this thread was started by a moderator... And to be honest, I don't see any difference.

Is there any rule about how we should react in front of each type of users?

You started a standard thread expressing your desire that GW gathers all their rules into 1 single book. Fine, this is just a opinion thread then. My opinion is that it will be futile, as they are publishing document after document of rules that pile on between them, in a very similar way they do with 40K. Are you familiar with the current status of 40K? The Titans were optional at first. And the same goes for the rest of FW products. All optional at the beginning.

I think the best thing is to keep using LRB6, at least until we know the extent of GW's changes. If you think that makes me a fool... Well, that's your opinion, just do not insult me publicly, perhaps a moderator will see it and ban you.

The Thread wasn't an opinion, it was a desire. I also said PDF/Rulebook rather than hardbound book. the difference is clear

you acknowledge that the current path is a mess and that people should use the LRB 6.0, however if you were faced with a bunch of potential players who want to join the league and have been attracted by the new release it does seem a bit backward to request that they use only old rules and have to keep manual recordsa for any "house rules" or experimental whims of FW.

one of the decent things about this community over the last 15 years has been the way we have held it together and kept it in a single book. Hence my desire to see GW do the same.

your opinion that they won't is negative and probably likely, but still not in keeping with the thread.

There not going to publish a single book when they are releasing new content every month. They'd have to release or at least update the main book every month also.

Also these new 'beta' teams are confusing. Perhaps they'll continue making more until they stumble onto something that works. My guess is they'll perhaps release a book once they've exausted all other ideas or people are required to work on other projects, but only if it serves to make a profit.

Ain't these the same guys who will be working on the next specialist game, perhaps it might not be too long?

It would be nice to have everything in one book, hopefully I'm wrong because I'm sure everyone agrees.

Another thought I just had was, "what if" GW want everyone subscribed to their app. I've not used it TBH but they could desire to get everyone to pay for rules for each race a bit like they do for their other games.

The problem with a lot of these threads though is it often boils down to "What's official" and because these forums are used by people who play NAF tournaments and thoughs who don't their is an underlying difference in oppion which can be confusing.

I think for leagues you just got to make it clear on your homepage or at the first point of contact what rules your playing with for the duration. Friendlys are obviously by mutual agreement and anyone attending NAF sanctioned tournaments should read their persific rules or already know them.

No reason someone with better IT skills than me couldn't knock up an unofficial PDF, a bit lit Icepelt 2.0 or something? Pleeeeease ;)

I have the same problem than WeeManBiggins and we have thought of the same solution. Although a single rulebook from GW with all new rules would be great.

Incorrect. Zero points for you. :smoking: Please see information from Andy Hoare:

"Rulebook:
* Do you plan to collate all the rules into one document, rather than the current five places to look? (Blood Bowl rulebook, Deathzone Season one, Errata, Teams of Legend, Q&A)
AH> Yup, this is being done right now! "

The best way would be an update to the app/ebook purchase, that gets updated with each new release automatically (after all, we are in a Web 2.0 world) but we will have to wait and see how it will work.

Does that answer your question Voyagers?
