Formation of the Welsh Blood Bowl Association
In 2010 a group of friends based in Newport decided to form Team Wales to attend the second Blood Bowl World Cup in Amsterdam. Since then the team has built up as has Welsh Blood Bowl and with the relaunch of the game by Games Workshop the community is even bigger albeit currently spread over different clubs, individuals and groups.
At present the Team has represented Welsh Blood Bowl but the teams goals and make up have changed depending on the Captain and it is acknowledged that in its current form, this won’t fully reflect the wider community. What this means is that we need to rethink how we operate as “Welsh Blood Bowl” and it’s proposed that an Association is formed.
As a starting point the Association should be formed of 3-5 people, one of whom should be the current team Captain, who continue to develop the team but also help to develop Blood Bowl in Wales. How they do this and to what end should be something led by the community in a manor agreed on by the Association.
Anyone can stand to be on the Association and once on you can serve for an initial term of 3 years, although of course you can drop out earlier or restand once your term is up. In the first instance let’s see who wants to stand and how many are interested and then we can form the committee.
If this is something that you are interested in, if you want to have a bigger say in your Welsh Blood Bowl community or if you feel that you have more to contribute, please post here and PM David Ridley – DaPiranha to register your interest. We would like to form the association from May 1st so please register your interest as soon as possible.
