I've contemplated chess clocks. Invariably, people always argue that the other person's turns are taking too long and vice versa. I think total time is important, because you're going to have those turns where you move a lot of pieces. Then there are the turns where a couple die rolls get failed and it's immediately bounced to the other person.

This thread made me look for a chess-clock like app for my games and I found that "Game timer" offers everything you need. You can have a turn timer and you can pause it for opponent descisions like side-step or fend.

The major difference with chess clocks vs turn timers is that you have to decide what to do when the time runs out!

At the NAF World Cup, for example, they have previously ruled that once the time runs out a player can only stand up and unstun their players.

I prefer the option to give a minimum amount of time per turn after the clock runs down (say 30 seconds) so it is still at least possible to remain in the game. You'd have to adjust the overall starting time accordingly though. Apps like this one for android support different time controls to achieve this.

But part of the skill of playing Blood Bowl is to play to the time allowed.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

It can be the same allowed time, just apportioned differently. There's also the possibility that a slow player who is forced to play 30 second turns might get faster at the game.

Hmm, I do kind of like that rule. I'll mostly be playing friendlies once I get my !@$% minis painted. Then we'll see if I can get enough people together again for a league or join a local one.

Does this poll expect answers to include:

* Checking the opponent's TV
* Calculating inducement cash
* Selecting inducements and game purchases
* Choosing (and discarding) cards
* Selecting MVP
* Post game winnings, etc.
* Calculating post game TV.

?

- as this probably takes about 1/2 an hour in total.

Yea, I would include those as part of overall game time.
