Officially all cards are still 100k. The prices above are only correct if an "optional rule" from on online only GW publication is used.
I think it is silly to not use the optional rule, because having all cards the same price is daft. But, I would say the most "official" price is still 100k.

P. S. I'm truly THANKFUL for the optional rules, but I still think the original rule is so bad that I won't let it go or let others gloss over it.

Understood. It was a definite mistake from a competitive play perspective.

I tend to default to variant 1. It's effective and simple.

What? And keep the inducement cost of cards at 100k each, no matter the deck? Seems daft to differentiate the decks when giving free cards but not those that are purchased.

Variant 1 deals with the free cards should you wish to use them and manages how many and of what value you get for free. Boxout on page 2 gives proper cost in gold pieces for the different decks should you wish to use them as Inducements.

If you are even using them at all that is.

Thanks JT-Y. I concur - but I have added one 'point' to each category, to allow each coach to have access to one Miscellaneous Mayhem card in each game if they so desire.
As for inducement costs for the cards, YMMV.

I personally don't think 100K inducement cost for a randomly selected Miscellaneous Mayhem card is overpriced (although the other decks probably are, they should be more like 50k)...

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you. With your default option being variant 1, do you allow cards to be purchased as inducements at 100k or do you not allow them to be purchased?

We haven't decided fully Moriawe - we are between seasons at the moment. However, Variant one specifically states:
"Once a coach has finished drawing their cards, they can return any one of them (not including any purchased through Inducements)..."

As such, you can stack variant one with Variant Special Play Inducement Costs if you like, but I think that puts Miscellaneous Mayhem too high. I also can't see that Heroic Feats and Benefits of Training have any more value, as written in BB2016, than Dirty Tricks or Random Events. As such, I think I'll consider simply making card inducements 50K, and Miscellaneous Mayhem at 100K. Thoughts?

When I have to think about the free special play cards drawn pre game I think in terms of variant 1, but with TV determining how many points you get rather than a dice roll. For example if I were including them in a tournament rulespack, which I have done twice recently, I'd use that option. With them in use like that I'd not allow them as Inducements in a tournament because then you're just doubling up on something and risking greater imbalance, confusion, or both (see the Full Beard rulespack for an example, in the first version it was pretty random how many you got and the poorly worded Inducements section lead to a few people who phoned for clarification thinking they could take Special Play Inducements on top, which could have been fine I guess, but when the opportunity to edit it for more clarity came along Special Plays got levelled out so that hopefully attendees will use them as described rather than 'forget' them).

In a league I'd go with variant 1 and the expanded cost so they can be used either or both ways, and I would give the final choice to include them or not and how to the players when they sit down.

The costs are about right though I think. I'd encourage anyone to do what Babs has and tweak stuff that doesn't work for them, but I don't think we'll see the costs change soon.

Gotcha. I'm pretty much on the same page with regards to league, though in ours we have a default rule to use them unless both players don't want to (has to some rule like that to resolve extremes of want-to-use vs not-want).
Tournaments I don't particularly care as much about and so haven't given as much thought to.

If you compare the various decks with CRP cards (which were fairly balanced, though dirty tricks was easily the best value), then it should be Miscellaneous Mayhem at 200k and the rest at 50k.

I can not see Miscellaneous Mayhem cards being that good. 200k for a random - you dont know what you get and have to hope for the mine or blackmail card.

For 200k you get alot more stable inducements.

Bribes
Horatio the wizard
Handful of great star players around 200k like Eldril, Karla von Kill, Bilerot Vomitflesh, Prince Moranion. Setekh, Glart Smashrip, Dolfar.

Ugroth, Helmut, Flint, and more with a bribe

A wizard for thoose who use crp/naf wizard

Apothecary, Igor, Kegs....

Much more safe things with ordinary inducements.

A human team with 200k inducements gets
Karla von Kill, add 20k
Horatio + Helmut, add 10k

Nurgle gets
Papa Skullbones + Horatio + Bloodweiser keg, add 10k

I can go on....

Miscellaneous Mayhem was all wrong with pricing in crp and that is just 'copy paste' to BB2016

In crp I didnt see anyone take a 'random events' (Miscellaneous Mayhem in crp) for 200k. Instead you took the wizard for 150k and a bloodweiser 50k

Or if you took some cards - just took 4 dirty tricks.

Miscellaneous Mayhem is not worth more than 100k

The thing is what the price should be on the other cards...
