Re: Spike! Journal
with regards to Spike magazines for some of the already released teams, would - for humans and possibly Orcs at least - be potential for a second team release?
That could serve a few purposes;
*if the models were not too dissimilar to the previous releases it means the two sets could be used together for more model variation
*the new reams could be more advanced builds - using the experience of more recent kits again for more variety
*could have a slightly different positional mix on the sprue (e.g. human team 2 blitzers but no thrower - themed as a more running variant, orc team with a goblin?)
*alternatively allows for a new positional to be added to the roster (a human blocker?)
*could introduce female models to the ranges
A second human set in particular would have conversion uses for other teams

Localisation is an additional cost factor, so this isn't unjustifyable at least.Regash wrote:You're right, my bad.MacHurto wrote:The online version is 8€ (Same exchange rate as For DKK)

Re: Spike! Journal
Silly question, but i dont go to GW very often. Spike Journal #1, will that still be available to purchase when #2 is out, or is this like a monthly magazine type affair?

Re: Spike! Journal
It's not a magazine, it's a gaming supplement. One very important reason for that is because if it were a magazine the previous issue would have to come off the shelves when a new one comes out.
These are books. They'll be available as long as there is demand, through the website or from your local independent retailer. Don't expect to see them in GW retail stores, we don't carry specialist items in those as they just aren't big enough.

Re: Spike! Journal
Do you plan on Spike magazines for released teams? Can humans expect to see reasonably priced and useful stars in the future? If so, my concerns about rostering fees start to alleviate, but it's hard to get a read on what SG's plans are for the game. Sometimes it seems like there's a plan, others it seems like a whole lotta "Makin' it up as we go along".JT-Y wrote:It's not a magazine, it's a gaming supplement. Re: Spike! Journal
In my league I’ve already renamed it from mage to scroll, to avoid any confusion about it being either staff or a wizard

Re: Spike! Journal
Hi JT-Y - I’ve reposted this rules question from another thread, where I think it drowned:
Having read Spike 2 more thoroughly now, I have another question:
Regarding the the Weather Mage: it states that the result can be modified be either plus or minus 1 or 2.
So not +0?
And is the modifier chosen before the roll or after? I'd assume after?
The effect lasts until your next turn Begins - (and can be voided by a Kick-off roll of Change the Weather) - so I'm assuming that the effect can carry over the end of a drive, or even the end of a half?
It appears to me that Weather Mage is a decent weapon against one turn score for just 30K. (Not a complaint, just noting it).
I mean Blizzard, Pouring Rain and Very Sunny (not so much Sweltering Heat) could all mess up an OTS.
Cheers
Martin

I've not read the rule itself, but if your statement is an accurate reflection of it, it says "can", not "must".it states that the result can be modified be either plus or minus 1 or 2.
So not +0?

Re: Spike! Journal
I'm sure i'm not the only one, just want to say i really love the Spike "Magazine" gaming supplement. I got issue 2 yesterday. The art work is amazing.
Loving the little bits of background writting. But obviously most of all i love the new stars. Something that did make me raise my eyebrows Av 9 elf, but overall the Stars are a fantastic addition to the game without breaking the current rules.
Also the play books are great too and very useful for new coaches and for people like me who constently struggle with this aspect of the game.
Keep up the good work, I will be collecting them all. Fingers crossed demand continues.

I'm a British Freebooter, will play for any team including Undead (I have my own Apothecary). Good rates.

No can implied there. Must be modified for me.
