You know you've been playing too much BB when...

Post by Thadrin »

...you see some 40K/WFB/etc. figs in your local games shop/White Dwarf/wherever and immediately think "now, with a couple of weapon snips those would make great BB players."
(Me and a box of Dark Eldar Wyches did that today. I resisted temptation on the basis of the whole "Lead under the bed" phenomenon.)

I saw the new Necron models and thought, "Wow, wouldn't they make a great converted BB side?" :)

I painted up a squad of 10 Dark Eldar wyches a coupla years back. There was a gladitorial game based on Wych combat given away with WD around that time. Hex based and kinda fun! Yep, they'd make outstanding BB figures.

Actually....

You know that you've been playing too much Blood Bowl when you look at an advertisement for sewing machines that has a checkerboard pattern and you think to yourself that the sewing machine could dodge out of those 5 tackle zones on a 4+

Actually, you know you spend too much time on Blood Bowl when you DREAM Blood Bowl for several nights straight.

(Then again, my dreams also involve hoops, beer, and horseshoes...not like I'm quittin' those any time soon, either!)

You know you spend too much time on Blood Bowl when you think you are a red ogre BB player called Red Orangina !

Ogres are the only true Blood Bowl players !

Ya know, I haven't actually played a game of BB in 5 years or so... but I've got WHFB Witch Elves snipped to join my 2E Dark Elf team, and I'll be converting the included Mordheim sprues of Skaven for a team; even got the Mordehim Rat Ogre to go with them! Now, who else was doing that on this board, and what ever happened to the promise of pics?

And it's not just GW figs, either! I buy a lot of types of minis, and my Undead will be 100% weapon-snipped from Reaper's Dark Heaven line. As you could guess, I'm obviously not too concerned with playing any official GW tourneys with them. But they'll look damn cool whenever I get around to them (extreme 'lead under the bed' syndrome).

....When you start giving your side 'team talks' to improve their performance
*You sub a player whos having a bad game.
*You think your jobs on the line if you lose
*Blame the cheerleaders for ....whatever
*refuse to use a player who had a bad 'last game'
*when you start taking team baths after a really good finals win
