BB League websites

Post by Axtklinge »

Just wondering if someone can tell me how much does it costs to have a league hosted in a place like this: http://www.bloodbowlleague.com/
(Wishful thinking that it's free...)

And since I'm at it, any idea of other places like that one?

Thanks,
A.

BB League websites

Hi Axt!

I use funnyfingers' hosting at mercuryvps.com. There's a direct link to our league site in my sig - I think it was $20-$25 for a year's hosting, with part of that going as a donation to the obblm creators. Its well supported and funnyfingers has done some cracking work in this area.

Otherwise, the obblm software is free if you host it yourself :)

My club has an OBBLM website - the domain name registration and webhosting come to under £30 a year as I recall. Well worth it.

I host my own for my league and tourneys, it costs about £20 a year.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Our system is custom built by one of the members but I was paying crazy amounts for it due to the databases. Try 123-reg, it's what we use and they are a lot cheep than 1&1 the previous hosters we used.

If you're going down the OBBLM route, make sure you check the hosting requirements in the documentation. I went through a few hosting companies before I found one that properly supported it, despite assurances from salespeople.
