clay golem -> stone golem

Post by Flumox Fleebiter »

well, I had an idea to mod the Reaper Clay golem into a Stone Golem. First pic is for scale, shown next to a human (plastic) catcher.

My idea was to basically glue on sand all over most of the mini (except face, hands and feet). I didn't base coat/prime the guy. I just washed a yellow-brown, then drybrushed highlights a few colors, and painted some brown-black lines to suggest cracks/joints/fractures in the rock.

It came out ok. It looks a little bit more gravelly in the pics than the mini does in real life anyway.

Looks cool! I missed this when you originaly posted it. I just converted this figure too (not really much conversion) as a FG for my Necromantic squad.

hey! flesh golem isn't a bad idea at all! This guy goes with the ST4 of a FG a better than the GW mini.

Nice! How big is that base? Could you do a scale comparison picture?

Thanks guys :D

Mine is mounted on a standard 40mm Big Guy base. The actual base that it came with takes up about 80% of that, then I just built up around it with ballast.
