How do you mark a down Big Guy?

Post by dakkakhan »

just wondering if any of you use some sort of marker for a Face down or Face up Big Guy as they are a real pain as far as size is concerned when laying down on the pitch.

I don't really use a specific marker. I just use the big guy itself. It shouldn't be too difficult to make a marker though if you really want one.

We use a marker if the Big Guy square is too crowded. Arkan has made a special marker, but i just use a game marker (RR or something) and lie the big guy down outside of the field (belly up or down as mormal).

I for a while (let's say until december, huh) used an old Keeper of Secrets model as a Minotaur. This fig is significantly larger than a standard mino, so what I did is I took two rounded bases with no slot in them, and labelled one "Stunned Big Guy" and the other "Prone Big Guy"

It works, but sometimes I forgot I had a BG lying on the field...

if the big guy is really big, we use a dice as a marker.

We just put them down. If all 8 surrounding squares were occupied I guess we'd use a marker if needed, but it never really happens that way for us.

For my wife's treeman I printed up some digital photos on some nice paper to make a 2 sided counter about the size of a Blood Bowl square.

As Tim mentioned my markers: they are real easy to make. I just take a plastic coin (feel free to use a quarter, 50 euro cents or anything from the poker/casino supply arena). Then print your team logo and eg. Mino down, Mino stunned (works best if you have self-adhesive paper, not too expensive in an office supply shop) and voila put them on both sides of the coin. You can then turn them just like you would turn the actual mini.
Got a couple of them, and it makes it easier once you start playing my Orks vs Tims Chaos Dwarfs (one ogre, one larger-than-normal s4 BOB, one Troll and two Bulls Centaurs). Sometimes the pitch gets a bit crowded there 8)
