GW or other miniature companies
Just wondering how many many purchase miniatures from other companies for conversion. I know I do as a think it adds oringinality to your team, plus GW miniatures are not the cheapest on the market I personally like Reaver minis particulary for Big Guys

I have a Necromantic team thats almost entirely made of non gw figs, mainly Vampire Wars, Ral Partha and Warlord. The only gw pieces are the dire Wolf heads that I used for the werewolves. I'm working on a a Samurai team that is made up of Clan Wars, Reapers and Phigs (as soon as I order them :)I also have a few Heresy figs worked into teams. Love the non GW figs!

I don't buy anything from GW anymore except for primer. I do buy their games, just not their figures. Too expensive for stuff that I think looks ugly.

Three touchdowns in one game. I almost got the Al Bundy Trophy.

well, to my is difficult have figures, because we don't have stores that sell figures like in europe or USA, but I have a good collection.
Internet is a goos way(but expensive) to find figures, and when I was living in Englad, I bought lots of different figures.
Now I have figures made by phil bowen, wizards of the coast, heresy, crocodile games, shadowforge, reaper, celtos, confrontation, and ral pharta, all them to play BB and some D&D.
but also I have lots of GW figures. I like their figures, and is easier buy GW stuff on line than other companies.
my teams have a mixtue of figures, and only two of 20 have all the figures from GW.

May i use this thread just to put you in the track of another miniature seller who is about to start doing some BB miniatures: Corvus Belli
The spanish company has suggested, via the bloodbowlforo.net, they can sculpt some general miniature, and see what impact has in the comunity. If it does the trick, they would like to start doing this in a general basis ..
Currently, there is only this project at bloodbowlforo.net (spanish only), but we will keep you posted.

Have you checked out the Samurai range that the Perry twins do? Some figures perfect for conversions...and the 'Victorious Daimyo and Generals viewing enemy heads box set' would make perfect head coach/reroll counters/turn markers etc.Chairface wrote:I'm working on a a Samurai team that is made up of Clan Wars, Reapers and Phigs (as soon as I order them :)I also have a few Heresy figs worked into teams. Good to know that Corvus Belli are going to do something along our kinda lines...their work looks very high quality indeed...can't post any pics directly cos it's a Flash site...but check out some of the WarCrow Fantasy stuff...really top notch.

Deathwing - thank you so much for the Perry Miniatures advice. Those Daiymo figs are sweet. I'm thinking head coach and assisstant coaches. The "Defeated Daimyo committing Hara-Kiri with loyal retainers & discarded armour " http://www.perry-miniatures.com/index2.html is also phenominal. Might be good for when you loose the game. The price is right and they're not taking advantage of you for shipping.
