Skaven conversions

Post by The Florist »

I'm running a Skaven team I've conceptualized as a gang of warlock engineers out to prove the supremacy of their technology.
I'm planning to give them nice cybernetics instead of mutations, and i'm wondering if anyone could suggest some nice bits from the WHFB and WH40k ranges to use, say big whirling saw arms for claw, jet packs for VLL, Dr Octopus-style tentacles etc.

Also, I think there's supposed to be a mechanical rat ogre model out,
anyone know if it would work for BB?
My team really don't need to buy any creatures form other clans to succeed, you know.

I only need some good rules for poisoned wind globes and warpfire throwers to be good to go...

Well for mechanical bits and whatnot cehck out the Necromunda pit slaves and whatnot, and 40K range for bits (servitors) Etc. I converted a team from the Mordhein clan sprues myself.

And I don't know about a mechanical R.O. but I do have the Boneripper model from teh last Thanqoul & Boneripper set. As the story goes, Clan Skryre's warlocks, Eshin (& maybe Moulder too) got together to bring back Grey Seer Thanquol's favorite pet (His guardian Rat Ogre, BONERIPPER) after he was neatly Sliced in half by the infamous Dwarf Slayer, Gotrek, in their first encounter. He was reanimated and altered so that now his warpstone powered undead form had 3 arms... the third being the new add on which was a cannon.
Full story here: http://us.games-workshop.com/games/warh ... anquol.htm

Sounds like he'd fit in perfectly... I have one myself. :)

Thanks for the suggestions.

That Boneripper model is a given for my team. It looks great.

And just when I think i have it figured out things get complicated again.
Should I get Boneripper or the mechanical RO?
Mecha-RO goes better with the fluff, but I'm still torn.
Decisions, decisions.
Maybe I should just flip a coin for it, the gentleman's way to make tough decisions.
Or start a poll? That brings the added advantage of me getting to pretend it's a vital question for the BB community which RO I get.

Thanks Grasshopper and Chairface for giving me options though.

I'm gonna say to go with the mechanical one bud. Its just too cool. Not to say that the Boneripper is ugly or anything, but c'mon! The Robot is awesome. :D

Yeah, I think I'll go with mechaRO.

Wasn't even planning to have a RO on my starting roster, but I want that guy on-pitch and racking up the bodycount as soon as possible.

Keep your fingers crossed for me GW mailorder comes through.
