just saw Norses' post about chaos dwarves

before posting anything i thought i would browse through to get a "feel"(ahem!) for this forum and noticed Norses' post about what choas dwarves should look like! Rackhams minis eh? v.cool but what i would like to know is who painted them and what medium was used?? I am not bad at painting but thats some of the best brushwork i have seen!it doesnt look like acrylic but not sure.does anyone else here have any ideas?

Pretty sure the rackham/confrontation mini's are painted using Vallejo acrylics

.. and then photoshop made a great part as smoothing gradients and stuff.

i heard that they are photos as is of the actual painted minis and that no computer touch up was done

quite how believeable that is i dunno

A friend of mine actually works at Rackham - he's been painting minis for something like 15 years i think. I don't know about the other painters, but he does use Vallejo acrylics, and the pictures you see are not photoshoped at all. And he doesn't use the good old "dry brush" and "ink" techniques...
