I said

see GW are doing their inflation thing again.... how much?

6 pounds each

Ithilkir replied

I got a Griff with the alternative griff and Varag head (won it at a tourney) and he is pretty big.. Easily 2nd edition big guy size.

So GW still can't get scale right - Griff is near ogre size yet vamps and nurgle rotters are st 3 weaklings ?

It's probably because Griff is a " larger than life superstar" (j/k)

mmm...

To me, is good that Varag looks bigger, but no Griff.

saw and assembled the new griff and varag (not mine-my mate brings his new purchases round for me to assemble...khemri team-i still have nightmares! )didn't think much of them at all really.too damn big for what they are supposed to be.stick griff beside a normal human team and  quite a mish-mash of detail and IMHO they both lack "style" :( which i think is important in a good miniature

ohohoh, i expected someting like than since i saw the mini in a showcase at the DungeonBowl. I just hope, for the "remake of the teams" ( hm, should we call this a 6th edition of minis ? I have to check with Galak ) will be a good scale and all done by one GOOD sculptor !!! Please no " mish-mash " :D

They both look disgraceful. No, I couldn't do better, but the sculptor guys do this for a living...

I need to get Varag for my Goblin team, but I sure as hell won't be buying the new mini. At least he's not as bad as the new Griff though... YIKES!

it was well late when i posted last night! i meant to say that the new griff model looks out of place with the existing human team BUT! he may well look perfect for the new human team coming out soon :P 16 different posed figures or whatever the gossip is about them.but at the moment he looks oversized with the rest of the team and to me at least appears too out of place to look "cool"

how dyou know what size the new human team will be

at this rate they will have to bring out a bigger pitch with larger squares and longer range ruler on....

.....which will cost more, ah i see ;]

just hoping they will be in scale is all!(surely to god they will look at the scale of griff etc when sculpting the new humans?)
I know what you mean about the stadiums/pitches too.varag knocked down takes up a lot of space on my pitch which is slightly bigger than the one in the game box

Jake mentioned at the TKC that Fanatic is tightening up controls on scale and that humans are 31mm.

cool. 31mm is not too bad all things considered.i know that i have put a lot of time and effort into making my pitches and from other posts a lot of you have too.it would be annoying to say the least if they would have to be binned to make way for a bigger scale pitch to accomodate larger miniatures

glad to hear it

still aint going to waste £6 on griff and varag tbh

though having said that the other stars will prolly be the same price even if they are in a comparable scale
