Duder's Plog

Post by Duder »

I finally finished my Impact Amazon Team. I am very happy with the team (thank you Impact for such awesome affordable options) and the results. I added a Reaper Bones frost giantess as either Bertha Bigfist, an Ogre if the team was used as humans, or Treeman for the team as wood elves. Without any further ado, here are some pics:

Love the team and I may steal that Frost Giant idea.

Thank you for the compliments.

Here is another team I recently finished. This is a Slann team which Chance Kirchhof of Three Die Block (Your Blood Bowl Podcast) commissioned me to paint. I hope to hear of the team leaping into cages and tearing up the pitch in future episodes of 3DB, especially in a Critical or Hawkeye championship game.

Those turned out great, they put my Slann to shame. We will see if Chance is able to surpass The Royal Pains on the pitch, he has always seemed a little afraid of bringing AG teams to the field. :D

They look great -- and I like the fact you did the throwers a different colour, as the team appears to be usable as a Human team now, as well. Wish I had thought of that. :)

Re: Duder's Painting ETC - My Necro Team

Here are some pics of my Necro team, the Monroeville Mallers, that I have been using in my first season of tabletop league ever (T3FL). I had a successful season and am looking forward to playoffs at the end of this month. The team is still somewhat in progress, I'll comment further with each pic.

Here are my wolves, the stars of the team.

Flesh Golems:
Image

My one wight is a converted witch elf the other I got off ebay already painted, I've only touched up the paint a little. I may eventually make another witch elf wight.
Image

My ghouls came with an ebay undead team. I have doctored the paint to fit the team more but it is not all my painting. I may look for non GW ghouls that fit the team better at some point.
Image

I sculpted my zombies from sculpey. I make no claims at being a great sculptor, but I think they are pretty fun for what they are. (Plus I have a small minis budget and can make quite a few mini's out sculpey which costs peanuts, especially with a 1/2 off coupon at Michaels or Joannes)
Image

These are my newest zombies, also from sculpey. My team has gained 2 zombies from killing an orc blitzer and a skaven lineman during the season. The slann zombie is for after my first playoff game vs Chenzhen's Slann, so it's basically trash talk through sculpture :)

Awesome. However, if history holds up, that is not just trash talk, but prophetic planning! (My slann are the top injury taker in the league!)

See you on the 23rd! Really looking forward to seeing those in person!

Nice zombies, congrats!
Their base is also sculpey or did you use something else?

Thanks :)

The bases on the original zombies are sculpey, but the newer zombies I used masonite discs I make with a hole saw (I use these a lot for basing commercial minis too). I found that it is easier working on the masonite base so there is something that is not mushy to grab onto. So I will do that again in the future.

For anyone that was wondering...

He did indeed make a froggy zombie! When the Top Casualty inflicter plays the Top Casualty taker... these things have a way of happening!

All in all a very funny match. Thanks Duder!

Here is my recently painted Ogre team called Much Ado or alternately Messina Amor.
The ogres are all Reaper Bones. I made the snots out of sculpey.

Here is a Wizard of Oz Themed Chaos Team I painted for Chance of Three Die Block earlier this year. It was a fun team to work on and maybe the best results I've had with a team yet. The approach was to be referential without being super literal.

The players are based on the following:
Mino - Toto
2 - Dorothy
3 - Scarecrow
4 - Tinman
5 - Lion
6 - Auntie Em
7 - Lollipop Kid
8 - Glinda
9 - Flying Monkey
10 - Wicked Witch
11 - Winkie (Witches Guard)
12 - Professor Marvel/Oz
13 - Jack Pumpkinhead
14 - Emerald City Guard
15 - Munchkin Coroner

I like it. Nice work on the theme. Dorothy is great, and Aunty Em in black and white was a nice touch, too.

I would absolutely use the line "I'll get you and your little dog, too!" ad nauseam when playing against this team. :orc: I would also always foul Toto.
