Skaven Obese Sculpt

Post by Lecter1972 »

Finally took the plunge and had a sculpt commissioned

It is a Skaven Obese / Fat Rat - a.k.a. "FAT" BRAINSMASHER sculpted by Rykar

Mini is based on the sketch from an old White Dwarf article for the 1st Edition Skaven Scramblers

Mini should be same size and scale as 3rd Edition Hakflem Skuttlespike mini

There will be some cast but I dont plan on having a lot of them cast. I want to sell just enough to cover the costs

Need to work out the costings, (sculpting cost / casting cost / shipping etc..) and have them in my hand before I start selling them

Hi Tom

Well I am old so all I can do is reminisce (before the memories disappear for good!!). Hope all is well with you

I actually think the rules have created a little bit of a problem for the miniature industry. I understand why many of the mutations were disregarded from the rule set but the change has actually limited the variety of miniatures that companies can produce so I have found there has been too much repetition in the industry

I will probably create some house rules to make him a star player

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I'm no expert on these things but in keeping with his obese size I thought that I would try to keep the skills and stat line appropriate to the theme without going over the top. To that end I see him being slower than a normal linerat as his weight won't allow him to move that fast but it does lend him some extra bulk so he's slightly stronger. His agility would obvioulsy suffer as it's much harder to manoeuvre himself about but the extra padding affords a little more protection. So stats wise I saw him as MA5 ST4 AG2 AV8. Skills would be Loner (obviously), Stand Firm (his huge bulk makes it difficult to move him if he doesn't want to to move), Juggernaut (Once he gets moving he's hard to stop), Wrestle (He uses his extra weight to pull attackers down to the ground) and Piling On (Once he gets a player down he throws himself in the air, just like 'Big Dadddy'', and splashes down on his hapless victim, pinning him under his weight).

I don't really know how to cost these things but I would say about 170k or 180k sounds OKish (maybe)

Oh, and I would be up for one if they get cast and you have some to sell.
