WIP Vintage Chaos Dwarf Team
Hi all!
As a big fan of the Chaos Dwarfs it was only a matter of time for me coaching a CD-Team. Three years ago I bought the 3rd Edition one + 2 Bull Centaurs. However, in the last years I got an even bigger fan of BB and a collector, too Soon I got my fingers on 2nd Edition CD's, which I prefer to the 3rd Edition ones. Since there were two big problems creating a full LRB 5.0 / 6.0 Roster (matching Hobgoblins and Centaurs), the project was put on the back burner. After some investigation, I found the C36 Hobgoblin Line from 1985-87 and the Centaurs (Tenderizer) from this era. I knew from the start, that these were the right minis for me, but I also knew, a lot of conversions were to do.
It took me quite a while to track them down at ebay, but finally I got all the minis i wanted - even the Rashnak Backstabber
Converting very old minis is very complicated. Many limbs easily broke away while snipping off shields and weapon and I had to fix it again and again, but I think, it was worth the effort.
Enough talking for now - let's have some pictures!

Hi all!
The first CD is already painted and ready to enter the pitch. I'm curious on the reactions regarding the colour scheme
@ apothecary: I still have got two surplus Hobgoblins (the running one, badly painted with two swords, and the left one with a whip in the last two pictures). If you are interested in a deal, don't hesitate to send an PM.

First Look
Hi all!
Aside of basing and some upcoming minor changes, the first three members are ready to enter the pitch. I hope you like the colour scheme

Re: WIP Vintage Chaos Dwarf Team
Finally after 10 years I finished this project!
I've lost the interest in paintig around 2012 and these marvelous minis ended deep down in the bottom drawer... Last years November was the moment I remembered my 2nd Edition Chaos Dwarf Team and I wanted them to be finished!
Unfortunately the old wip pictures are gone. I hope I will find them again so can add them in this thread.
I hope you like the guys! (...and the girl )

Minis look great!
And thanks for making me feel less bad about how long it takes me to paint a team!

Haha, nice one!
I'm not very fast at painting. This team was very special though. It isn't recommendable to wait such a long time to finish a project because the paint gets grainy. Any replacement color doesn't match exactly. However, I'm very happy I finally did it. The next project is the Space Hulk Squad but I'm not in a hurry
Here are some old WIP pictures which got lost over the years.
