one of my new projects...

Post by traveller »

just started a new project. A Street Bowl pitch... before Frank will build the first one, but he build ""just" pitches for races or teams...

Here a test dugout. Finaly i´m using the hirst mould stones ...
The stones are not fixed on this photo. The final version got some more windows. Here I put some minis insite to check the space... but for 11 players per team it should be enough space. It´s quite tempting to build some more extras like steps, wooden stuff, but this is for a game, not a diorama...
Behind the "house" you see the cobblestone street. Until now, not painted and no blood on it..

Okay, found it myself. And here it is for everyone else.

My question now is, How many do I get in each set?

The basic block set is pictured like this...

but for $34.00 it better contain more blocks than that!

hm, i ´m not sure, if i understand your question... but you get a mould and can " build " as many block as you like or the mould lasts. And i can tell you, it s fun. Back to the playground ... dirty work... but fun. :D

I knew, those moulds are quite expensive, but good stuff. I ordered some different moulds to combinate the blocks...

BTW... its a great site, this hirst site. Lot of helpfull stuff, who to build and paint those blocks...

Nice. Hopefully you'll have room to add some furniture, perhaps all piled up in the corner. Although at this size the rooms might look better as stables, with straw all over the floor.

nope, no room for something else. If i would do this the dugouts willl be to large. As i will not build a roof and keep the backwall open for better mini-handling, the "house" will more look like ruins. I knew, its a pity not to add some " flavor" ... i build a lot 1:35 scale WWII dioramas in my " younger " days... but i want to build these parts for a pitch, which i will try to make fitting in a small suitcase ... for travelling  Maybe it will be ready for the Dutch Open ?

But i can say, using this hirst stuff is fun. I would like to build a whole village or a small castle. Hm, there is still another project " Dungeon Bowl "in my mind...

so, second " dugout-house " finished. I build this one with different blocks and a bit different door-layout than the other. The first one is primed darkgrey allready. Tomorrow i will try some drybrush " bigstyle "

Have to think, if i "nail " the windows with wooden boards as written in the rulez

Without knowing the background of StreetBowl (IE, warhammer type or cyberpunky type) Ainsty does a lot of good stuff for pitches etc.

well, both " dugouts" are build, primed, painted , 3 or 4 times drybrushed... and look like this:

http://www.ruediger-rickassel.de/picts/streetbowl03.jpg

Next i will try some doors and some panels in front of the windows. Maybe some posters or ads... Hm, i got some GW rat (and i mean animals minis, no skaven ! ) minis around... lets see what i can find for some details...
The second half of the street is in work right now, too. Just some more walls for bouncing balls and the markings of the "field".

What is Streetbowl? btw Trav they are amazing dugouts, can't wait to see how it all turns out. I'm one of those gamers who loves to see well built and painted terrain and miniatures but I never paint a thing myself. Please keep us posted :)
