Chain push & Side-Step?

Post by J_Bone »

Just a quick one... I plan to take Side Step on a few of my Vampires this year and noted that in the solution for one of the tests on BB Tactics it utilises Side Step in a way I had never come across. I just wanted to check it was correct before I started using the skill.

The diagram below shows what was done in the solution. Consider all of the 'L' players to be regular, unskilled linemen and the 'SS' player to have sidestep. If the opposing lineman is pushed into the Side Step player in this way is it possible for that player to choose whichever adjacent square they like to be pushed into and, hence gain an extra square of movement if they were wanting to go in that direction?

Yes, the SS player could move to any of the free squares around him. It's the SS player's coach that selects the square that the player is moved to.

Be wary if you play Cyanide, iirc if a Side Stepper is chain pushed they cant use the skill.

That's certainly the case on the sidelines, as a few people with sidestepping skinks can attest to as they were crowdsurfed instead of being put in scoring range

Thanks for the clarification guys! I always wondered why people complained Cyanide wasn't accurate... I guess this is one of those occasions!
