Incomplete Passes and Bounces

Post by ddancer »

Morning all,

I'm sure this has come up before - but we've come up against a difference of understanding, so I'm reaching out to you all.

Player A makes a pass attempt. There's no intercept, so he proceeds to roll. Even with the pass reroll, it turns out to be inaccurate. It scatters three times, with the last scatter winding up next to the intended recipient.

The ball then bounces since it hit the ground, into the players hand who does manage to catch it. Awesome, he has the ball.

The concern/questioning came from the fact that the ball had hit the ground. In previous editions, if it hit the ground, that was a turn over.

Is this still the case? Or can the person who caught it on the bounce from the ground keep moving?

Thanks in advance!

No turnover. Continue the turn.

It doesn't matter that it has bounsed aroung as long as it ends up in one of the teamembers hands.
N exact qoute at hand but this is not among things that cause a turnover. Think theres a list somewhere.

No turnover, and hasn't been since vanilla 3rd edition.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

CRP, page 13 wrote:TURNOVERS
If a ball thrown by a player isn’t caught by a player from the moving team, this causes a turnover and the moving team’s turn ends. The turnover does not take place until the ball finally comes to rest. This means that if the ball misses the target but is still caught by a player from the moving team, then a turnover does not take place. The ball could even scatter or bounce out of bounds, be thrown back into an empty square, and as long as it was caught by a player from the moving team then the turnover would be avoided!
That answers that, without a doubt!
