No can choose whether you want to use it or not.

Unless we are talking PBeM bloodbowl.
Because of the tool the rules for shadowing is a bit different from the original rules, and after what i understand you have to use shadowing if you can.

No, it was all about the table top games, no PBeM ...

Thanks!

You never have to use any skill or trait, unless it's specified in its description. Haven't you read the latest FAQ?

I was wondering about another thingy with Shadowing:
When is the shadowing skill used? Is it:
a. After dodge roll, effectively forcing more dodges if the dodging player wants to move further.
b. Before dodge roll, the shadowed player needs not take his dodge until the shadowing fails and he really does leave the shadower's TZ.
c. None of the above.

Hoi!

Skaven with Shadowing and Tackle may really become a problem (imagine they got the prehensile tail too)...

If you can and are not the ball carrier or next to the ball carrier. IE no cheesy doding tactics to pull an opponent away from your ball carrier by forcing him to shadow.

Because of PBeM play we had to rewrite a few skills:
Side Step, Diving Tackle, and Shadowing so that they could be resolved without your opponent.

But in tabletop all skills and traits are optional unless otherwise stated (like Frenzy) ... (ie just like Zombie said)
