Deployment and End Zone

Post by mirparx »

Hello, during a discussion with my game group, we had a doubt regarding deployment zones.
The question is, independing from the utility of it, can a player be deployed in the end zone?
Does the end zone have "wide zones" too?

The picture in CRP/GW rulebook is a bit ambiguos regarding that...

I see no problem with it...

Agreed, the rulebook image is a little ambiguous. Given the lack of explicit prohibition I would rule:
  • Yes the End Zone is a valid area.
  • Yes, the Wide Zones include the End Zone squares.

I would say you can't set up in the end zone. Can't find the reference just now though.

CRP page 6 (cant quote BB'16 as I dont have it):
Each coach must set up 11 players, or if they can't field
11 then as many players as they have in Reserves, between
their end zone and the halfway line, and within the following
restrictions:
Between EZ and halfway suggests not in the EZ. To me, anyway.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

And that's what I get for not reading the book before I post.

There is very little in game effect for this one, though.

Wow! Assuming that's been the same since 3rd edition (and I'd guess it wasn't something that was changed in an LRB) I've been playing that wrong a long time!

I've been playing Blood Bowl for over 20 years, and not once has it occurred to me to intentionally set up a player in the End Zone :-D

It was also suggested for (broken) Grak.
