The Book of Sorrows ( Extracts )

Post by McDeth »

Extracts from Durin Rockflame’s ( Captain of Drax’s Dynamo’s ) Book of Sorrows
“We will play to our strength’s not the opponents. They will be ground into the earth until none are left standing. Thus total victory will be assured and achieved.”

“Our front line “The Anvil” will be the mainstay of our attack and our strength” It will always consist of a full available compliment of our Dwarven Brethren. In attack they shall provide a formidable driving wedge supplemented by our guardian support for each other and our blows of mighty strength, none shall stand in our way. Never shall they be afraid to power their way forward and shall engage the opposition at every opportunity, and thus provide an insurmountable cage for carriers. Never shall their importance be underestimated. Their ability to withstand injury is famed and our warcry of “Block & Tackle” are feared by all.”

“In defence “The Anvil” will once again be our front line aggressors. Bludgeoning and wearing down the opposition at every opportunity. The opponent shall be battered and removed from the field of battle, until our insurmountable numbers completely overwhelm the enemy. The best form of defence is attack.”

“Our supplement players shall be the green skinned Hobgoblins. Unless one shows remarkable skill, then they shall be totally expendible, as they are in cheap supply from the Mines of Khazad-Dum.
Occasionally one shall aspire above the ranks for specialist positions, and shall be nursed to achieve his ambitions, but on the whole their sneaky and expendible hides shall be used to cripple and maim the opponent at every opportunity. Likewise their expendibility makes them perfect foils to throw against the opposition, to lend assist in defence and attack, and also to slow down a better more equipped player. “

“The Bull Centaurs shall be the key to our success. In defence their quick blitz manoeuvres shall be the bane of the opposition carriers, and with Sure Hands they will Strip the ball from their fingers.
In attack they shall provide a means of scoring from just inside enemy territory, and with their Sure Feet, they shall sprint to Victory.”

“The Minotaur is to be treated with great care, its unpredictability rules that he should only be used in defence, where he shall rip and tear apart any opposition foolish enough to stray into his reach. It is only under extreme circumstance that he shall be allowed to wander downfield, and most assuredly he will gain from the ability to block.”

You're the Man, Deth. That text looks strangely similar to Pushkin's Nine Laws of Victory...without all the talk of *spit* HobGobs and mutant horse/men.

Step into the Light, my brother. Renounce the Darkness and return to the fold.
