Sorry folks, but CD's have no long term staying power. The main reason for this is their speed and Hobbos. General and strength are the only skills they have access to. Not good for consistent glory.

Maybe consider adding a Hobgoblin passer to the team somewhere in the future?
A normal hobbo but with perhaps Pass/Sure Hands/Pass+SureHands and Passing skill access.

Thinking about the hobgoblins as sneaky gits, they could get a hobgoblin blitzer who has block/shadowing + only gen-skill access...

Just ideas - feel free to bash them down, but IMO the chaos dwarves could be boosted up a bit without affecting the balance between the teams.

But we don't want to give them roster players who have secret weapons.

No position player in the game has shadowing - making a different kind of blitzer for the CD's wouldn't be a bad idea.

They have only two positions - IMO they could be given an extra position. My suggestions would be

0-2 Hobgob runners 6 3 3 7 Sure Hands gen/pass
0-2 Hobgob blitzers 6 3 3 8 Block,Shadowing gen

The runners could be renamed as throwers, and given the pass-skill, but sure hands and passing access is a sufficient addition also.
The blitzers seem like an interesting position, but with restricted skill access they are in no way an overpowering addition to the team. They could lose the block-skill if needed, or change it to Tackle.

Only problem would be
6 CD's
2 BC's
2 runners
2 blitzers
4 normal hobgobs

so perhaps add only runners or blitzers to the team..

What do people think?

This is the one I'd vote for.. Although I'd keep it at AV7... Cost at say 70k perhaps? I wouldn't mind if the CD team got a bit more in total cost of team...

Would be interesting to have a player with shadowing on the roster :)

I think so too.
However, I felt that the player should have something differing from the basic hobbo: either a stat or a skill access. ST skill access would be too much, and ag/pass skill access just doesn't feel right, so I thought adding a point of av might be good.
If not av, it should be either a skill access or +1MA, as IMO a different position in this case would need a bigger difference from ordinary hobgobs - your opinion?

Also, I'd be inclined to give them tackle instead of block, but that's just me.

I would certainly buy that ! I would love to have a thrower on my CD team ! Although the Blitzer is interesting, I'm not sure since you can have 2 Bull Centaurs. But great idea !

Well, i just got quite lucky, and got two Hobbos with +1AG on only 5 games played. Now we are starting the next league, and i plan to give them Sure Hands as soon as i can, so i won't need to spend my rerolls on picking up the ball, plus if a doubles happen to appear again, i'm surely giving one of those the Pass ability ..

just my two cents

Chaos Dwarf teams might get tweaked later on this year with some experimental rules in BB Mag. Nothing major, it will be a recognizable team on par with this one. Watch BBMag3 and explore the possibilities :)
