Dwarf playbook..?
I have been looking online and where a lot of races have substantial playbooks, dwarfs seem to be lacking.
Am i just missing it?
If there is not one, why is that?

Re: Dwarf playbook..?
Hi there,
There's a 5-pager at my site.
Admittedly not the longest playbook. Then again perhaps there isn't much more to say about plodding along at 2 Squares per turn while hoping to get armor breaks
Cheers
Martin

Re: Dwarf playbook..?
The playbook consists of three words, "cage and grind"... unless zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz is considered a fourth word....

Re: Dwarf playbook..?
When receiving, set up for as many block as you can with the longbeards and troll slayers, have the blitzers in the wide zones to cover the blitz and the runners back to get the ball. When kicking, 3 on the line, 2 in each wide zone in non-surfable positions, and the rest in the middle. The exact set up probably depends on who you are against, and how worried you are about them running past you. So yes, probably worth a playbook. Have you looked at bbtactics?

Look for "1000 Losses"!
It's a general guide to BB, but you can get all the formations for your play style out of it. And much, much more!

Re: Dwarf playbook..?
Dwarfs are harder to coach than a lot of people think. Sure sometimes they will crush all before them and waltz a TD in T8. But if facing a full team they will really struggle with their lack of mobility.
Dwarfs rely on good positioning more than most teams as vs fast teams a mistake on defence can leave them struggling to catch up. The same is true vs bash teams as they don't have the strength so need to use guard to maximum advantage. On offence they need to focus on moving the ball forward as they will find it hard to redirect an attack and don't have a passing game to speak of.

Re: Dwarf playbook..?
Smart coaches never EVER get a deathroller. When playing in Tournaments if my opponent brings a deathroller I know he has just increased my chance of winning.

Re: Dwarf playbook..?
And anyway I did give you advice. Don't take a deathroller, it interferes with the prime purpose of the team, which is to bore (in both the drilling grind, and the other sense) your way upfield in a solid tight cage.
As to skills, I have said elsewhere there are two ways to develop Dwarves. Wrongly or like this.
Linos go Guard, Mighty Blow (Jimmy F, who is always right, says you can have Fend too)
Blitzers go Guard, Mighty, Blow, Tackle.
Runners go Block (rest doesn't matter but I would go utility, Kick Off return, Leader, Kick)
Ginger Twats go Mighty Blow Pile On Guard (by which time they will probably be dead)
Deathrollers go straight to the scrapheap, if you must have one induce it.
Couple of re-rolls 12 man team and you are done.
As to stat ups
Linos go Str or MV others ignore
Blitzers All but armour (I may skip move as well but speed kills)
Runners All but Armour (Honestly 8 will do, if this guy is getting hit you already have more serious problems).
Ginger Twats Str and Mv, I would not bother with anything else.
And finally remember that you do not play dwarves because under your harsh exterior you want to be loved, you play dwarves to throw your harsh exterior into sharp relief. Grind is king, do not rush, hold on to the ball, stick to the plan.
But really give up the beardy crutches and play a real team, its the only way you will learn. Play flings, that really teaches you about the game, and the need to plan for failure.
