High Elf, where to go from here

Post by BigGrudge »

Hey all!

My high elf blitzer (31 spp, +str, dodge) rolled 5+5 on his skill up roll. I’m leaning towards guard, but dunno if I should consider something else.

Rest of the team looks like this:

Lineman (12 spp, wrestle)
Lineman (25 spp, -ma, block, dodge)
Lineman (12 spp, block)
Lineman (22 spp, block, dodge)
Lineman (12 spp, wrestle)
Lineman (22 spp, +str, +str)
Lineman (8 spp, guard)

Blitzer (26 spp, dodge, tackle)

Catcher (34 spp, dodge, mighty blow, block)
Catcher (12 spp, wrestle)

Thrower (8 spp, strong arm)

I play scheduled league and this is second season for my high elves. This season my team is in same division with orc, chorf, pact and a another high elf team. We play two games against each team in same division and then (if lucky) playoffs.

Any input is appreciated!

Big Grudge

I'd take Mighty Blow. He's got strength 4 so he can hurt most people with two dice blocks.

Congrats on the ST5 Lineman! :orc: :orc:

mighty blow
or guard (and then side step)

i think this time, i would take "guard", as you have already a mighty blow

Yeah, but a ST4 Blitzer with MB can hit anywhere. That's really to hurt even your Orc and Chaos Dwarf opponents.

High Elf, where to go from here

Mighty blow. I had a Pro Elf Blitzer that had strength up and dodge then rolled the double. I considered guard because of side step, but mighty blow was too good to pass up. He got leap after that and was a nightmare!

Thank you guys for your opinions. I'm quite surprised that MiB is so popular against guard, especially that I already have MiB catcher on my team.

I agree that high elf team needs MiB player to keep opponent on his toes. But then again blodgestepper str4 guard blitzer would be pain to play against also :D

I'll need to keep my options open to the last minute before my next game.

PS.The str5 line elf has been waste of TV so far and I've been most unlucky when trying to feed him TD's.

as soon as that monster get block, you will change your mind ;)

i wish you that the next skill (on this blocker) is a simple, else it would burn your brain (i would love to have a str5 linemen with blodge, side step and guard in my highelf teams, but i don't play enough game to farm such monsters)

No love for +MA? I think that would be my choice.

I'm still really torn about this skill up... Luckily my next game isn't too soon so there's no rush this time.

+Ma is nice but doubles is the way to go this time I think.

I would go with MiB. Then there would be two really annoying "hit and run" type of players (catcher & blitzer). Defense and offense against those becomes quite challenging.

By the way have you ever heard about Thick Skull, that would be an interesting choice... And maybe you should retire the str5 lineman, he has gotten too cocky imo.
