Rat Ogre advancement on doubles...
Allright, generally I'm pretty good about deciding my skills, but this one has me at a crossroads. I just got out of a very destructive game in my tabletop league with my skaven... going into the game, my Rat Ogre had 4 SPP. He proceeded to rack up 2 casualties, a TD, and a MVP, bringing his total to 16. After my two skill rolls, I had double 1's and double 6's. Nasty.
So my question is, what in the world do I do with this? I would love block on the guy, but don't want to give up the doubles roll for a mutation. And the +ST would be fantastic for avoiding Wild Animal troubles against other Big Guys.
Any opinions on this?

Thats exactly the same as i rolled for my minotaur.
I chose Razor Sharp Claws and +1 Str and after playing several games with him i never regretted it.
I am not quite sure but i think he is very near becoming the league top in casualities (even without block)
So take RSC and +1 Str.

+1 st and Claws, rsc wont do u any good if u dont break armor. If your still undecided then go +1 st and block, whatever u do dont give up the +1 st, wa's need st more than anything in the world.

Leader on a big guy
I'm of the opinion that Leader on a big guy is a waste. There are so many good things to get with doubles. Leader should be saved for a lineman with doubles.

Re: Leader on a big guy
Its a interesting question - and one I think is dependent on the team and other players.JeffB wrote:I'm of the opinion that Leader on a big guy is a waste. There are so many good things to get with doubles. Leader should be saved for a lineman with doubles.
In general I like having Leader on the Big Guy, then you don't have to worry about the leader being taken out to stop the BG using the RR.
With a lot of teams you can argue using a double on Leader is a waste. Lizards in particular don't really want to use doubles on a Saurus to help the Krox.
Chaos and Skaven have access to mutations, which increases the demands on the beastmen/line rats to take something more directly useful.
Humans and Orcs, certainly once developed, often don't play that many linemen, so forcing yourself to field one with leader (which doesn't help them develop further to be more useful) can hurt the team in the long run.
