Does anyone use the wizard type things?
Looking through all the rulebooks and such for my new Dwarf and High Elf teams, I came across the Dwarf Alchemists and was wondering if anyone ever uses things such as this? I know some people use the Halfling Master Chefs, but not the others... Any comments/opinions?
Plus, would'nt these be better if they were able to be bought, many for a slightly higher cost rather than being a one match luxury like wizards?

It's a gamble and not at all worth it in my opinion.
Why gamble your winning away when you can just save up for what you want? There isn't anything a dwarf team needs THAT badly. You can lose 20K and only gain 30K. Sounds like a bad desicion to me. As an experienced dwarf coach I can tell you that a dwarf team is more than capable of last a game or two to pick up any players that they need. Dwarfs just don't die that often, in fact, I don't think I've ever had a dwarf team start a game with less than 10 players.
What could be so important to risk losing 20K?

The gamble is not a bad thing. It would be if it were like at the casino, and on average you'd lose more than you'd win. However, in this case it's the opposite. If you don't hire the alchemist because you're scared of losing money, that's a bad reason. If you don't hire him because you're scared of winning money (because you really, really don't need anymore), now that's a good reason.Dark Lord wrote:It's a gamble and not at all worth it in my opinion.

Of course, like Galak said, this will all be moot soon because dwarves will get a runesmith instead.

I was VERY tempted Zombie ... really I was ... I ended up having to look something up there anyway, so I posted the link since the page was up for another item.Zombie wrote:Galak, you've gotta leave some work up to them, otherwise they get lazy and expect you to do all the work for them all the time! Some people need to learn to use the search function and to look around blood-bowl.net. If you keep doing it for them, they'll never learn.
I think I've posted the link to that page 50 times in the last 4 months ... so I'm pretty much to the point where I agree that folks need to start using the search function that I had added to the website. So I agree with you on this one, but it was easy so I threw it out.
