Range Ruler & Block Die Question
Hi folks,
I'm new to this game.
I downloaded the rulez and I dont want to buy the boxed version as I want to have different (and metal) teams as opposed to the ones in the boxed game.
I've made up a pitch (with the help of pitch witches pitches.. http://www.geocities.com/pitch_witch/ Cheers).
I can make or improvise all the other bits 'n' pieces, however I need the dimensions for the range ruler ie length (of each range) and width.
From studying pics it appears that each range is equal to 4 squares and the width is 1 and a half squares, is this correct.
Also the 'block' die are D6's but there are only 5 possible results therefore one result must be repeated, can someone tell me which one so I can use standard D6's. If I like the game after playing for a while I'll probably want to get proper 'block' die and even a range ruler; anyone know where I could get these (I'm in the UK).
If all goes well I intend to have a go at making a '3D' flock covered pitch and dugouts. If anyone has suggestion for these I'd be interested.
NB to admin or whoever... the last 6 Emoticons to the left when entering a message dont show up for me??
these ones lol ( I cant see them!!!)
Hoping to be speaking to you all on a regular basis as I learn this game, it sounds brill!!!!
And one last thing, what is the oldest person anyone knows who plays this game (guess what....... I'm too old for this hehe )
Cheers peeps.

Welcome to TBB!
The pushback is the result that is repeated on the d6.
If you'd like to get some cool black blocking dice you can join the NAF (an international association of Blood Bowl coaches offering news, contacts, discussion, sanctioned tournaments, and international player rankings).

I don't have the ruler dimensions handy, and you can use the search function to find some great advice on custom pitches

hi, You can join the NAF for block dice.As far as range rulers go i have duplicated my 2nd ed boxed one on a different scale using this guide:
1 square over the thrower,4 squares for quick pass,4 squares for short pass,4 squares for long pass and 3 squares for long bomb.2 squares wide.I too wasn't going to get a boxed version so i hope i have made the correct calculation (P.S. i made my ruler out of perspex).

AFAIK,
assuming that the area of a pitch square is 1 inch^2 (~26mm^2) ,
the range ruler is 1' the length of the section to place over the head of the thrower, and then 3'5'' every one of the four sections: Quick, Short, Long and Long Bomb.
I made some BB accessories out of scrap office junk, and used these ranges to make the rr.
The common translation of the Block Dice on a six.sided die is the following:
1 - Skull
2 - Pow/Skull
3,4 - Arrow
5 - Pow!
6 - Pow
Hope this could help

cheers
Thanks guys, a great help. Now I know the block die layout I'm gonna make my own!!!!
Take 3 largeish D6's, fillup the holes to make the faces smooth. Now using the gif's included with Ski Junkies java program.....
http://javabbowl.no-ip.org/
print out the die markings as need, paste to die, and finally spray gloss varnish them lol
or I am too nerdy???????? maybe I'll just use D6's and join the NAF if I like the game
Thanks again guys, it'll get me started, all I need now is players in Belfast, Northern Ireland to play against

you could always just use ski-junk's program and play on-line at fumbbl.com to see if you like it....save yourself the pain of making a board and everything else if you don't.
