Multiple niggling injuries and apoth

Post by DarkHorse »

I did a search, but didn't find the answer.

How do apothecaries work when a player has multiple niggling injuries?

Do you:
Roll for injury #1, fail, use apothecary, then
Roll for injury #2, fail, player is out of the game AND you lose your apoth for the game?
Or can the apoth cure the player of multiple niggling injuries so he can still play?

As it (should) state in the rules, an Apothecary may only be used ONCE each game. Thus, if a player has multiple Niggling Injuries, the Apothecary can only take care of the first one; any failed rolls after that cannot be healed and the player must miss the game PLUS the team loses its Apothecary for the game. Sad  but true.

I'm pretty sure the apoth heals all niggles a player fails.

Ianwilliams is right:

LRB p. 28: "...an Apothecary may be used at the start of the match to allow one player who is missing the match due to niggling injury to take part to take part in the game after all."

That implies that you first have to roll all nigglings for a player and then may chose one among your players who failed one or more of their niggling-rolls to be healed by the apo.

It explicitely says that the apo heals one "missing" player, not that he heals one niggling injury or nullifies one niggling roll.

Man you are right!!!

All the years I have played wrong. I allways thought you have to use your doc before the roll. But after double checking I could confirm that you are right.

The text says that you can let a player participate in the game if he is through a NI out of the game.
