Big Guys

Post by BaSe »

Hi all,

Its me the serious newbie here. Just a question about the so called Big Guys. Ive had a look and I can't find anything regarding them in the rule book. Where is the info for these for each of the teams.. also are there specific models for these or do u just use modles from Warhammer to represent them?

Ok, the Big Guy stuff is on p25 (pdf) of the Living Rule Book.
The only GW Big Guy models available right now are the Star Players, and a new Treeman. Check out GW's online store

And there's some new multi-part Ogres due next year! :D

Aha, gottcha.. thanx

So for the big guys that don't have offical figures, I guess it is ok to use models that represent the model..
eg: WH Stone Trolls for a Troll (perhaps with a slight bit of remodelling).

I really need to print this rulebook out to read it better. With anyluck ill have a second hand copy of the game soon too :)

Either that or look on ebay for some 2nd ed blood bowl big guys. Just learn the game with humans first and get a feel for the rules and the way it plays. After a few games you'll be able to work out what sort of team you want from looking at the team chracteristics. If you want to play with flare go with Agility teams, if you want to a dust up go for strength. Or do as we do and play with the lot :D

Thats what I do, I have a very nice River troll from WHFB that plays on my Goblin side, usually all you have to do is remove a weapon.

Excellent, thats all I needed to know :)

So, are goblins as fun to play with as they look?

I haven't played them yet, but I wouldn't advise to a newbie, as they are very difficult to win with. They are a lot of fun, however.

Yes.
There not too bad, mine are 2win 2 draw 3 loss.
They can provide a lot of entertaining moments.Too many to list.
I kind of wish I had an Ogre on the side though, two trolls are nice but not much use at throw team mate.

Gobbo's

Post by Nermal »

one of the goblins biggest drawbacks under the new LRB rules is stunty. it is a great trait but the drawbacks are severe. when he is blocked over he gets plusses to any injury roll he sustains.

i have played against them and got a lot of cas's in that game. although it was a fun game to play and gobbo's are cheap to replace :)

Stunty isn't so bad ... my Halfling team just beat a Norse team that was 20 TR points higher. The biggest trick is freebooting 1 or 2 Goblins or Halflings EVERY game as part of running the team. These are your LOS guys and the volunteers to put the tackle zone on that ball carrier over there.

yea clever idea, if the cash is there. never thought of that. who cares if the freebooter dies.

In FUMBBL my goblin team, Kaos Kritters, have done very well. Played 15 games so far. 9 wins, 4 ties and 2 losses.

I chose Pro for the first skill on both my trolls and I absolutely don't regret this. makes throwing much safer... I haven't had this much fun in a long time :) They are my favourite team at the moment...

But I agree with Pedait. They're not for beginners.

I just started a halfling team. I severely dislike Take Root so I took an ogre. Lost first game to high elves and won the second against a TR 119 halfling team. Next I'll be facing a rookie goblin team w/ two trolls.
