If you'd like to be remotely competetive you'll want three trees! Deeproot is standard for Halfling teams wanting to win, along with their chef of course!

Personally I have two smaller trees by JB Demon Studios, slightly converted to look different as my actual treemen, then one of the Willy Trees as Deeproot. I liked those models as they fit nicely on 30mm bases making it easier to stack the LoS with them.

Hardcore 'fling coaches (not me) don't use trees or chefs. This strategy however is very impopular among the average 'fling coach since it tends to fill up the dead & injured room in the dugout.

I say take three trees and a chef.

You should get at least two plus a model to represent Deeproot. I'm one of those halfling coaches who doesn't field Deeproot as standard (he's too expensive...) I take Puggy as he amuses me and vexes my opponents. But you need three trees for sure.

3 trees plus willow rosebark later on. Build a wooden fence on the LOS

Am I the only person who likes Bertha Bigfist on a fling team? Her mobility can be a difference maker. (however if there's a Big Guy across the LOS I'm worried about, then I take Deeproot for sure.)
