Round or Square Bases

Post by BaSe »

Ive finished my Mordheim conversion and made a stonking looking Skaven team, along with an assistant coach (treasurer) and an apoth. I have used the square bases for now, but I was wondering, does it matter which bases u use. I know officially it comes with round bases for models, but is it important to use round ones?

If it is I guess i'll just have to order some :)

What bases you use doesn't matter (especially since the new rules for passing state take into account the square a player is one, and not the base) but I think that

Round Bases Look Better,

Much better!

I'll second the round base vote. If you have Big Guys that don't fit on the 25mm rounds, get some 40mm rounds and ditch the big, square one.

Square, this aint 40k, movement is on squares, so squares it should be.

Square bases are okay if you are using them for the normal players...but Big Guys on bigger squares becomes unruly to have other players (in their correct squares) next to one...so get the bigger round ones if the Big Guy doesn't fit on a smaller one (because some of them will!).

Good luck with that...you could always use the old battletech bases which are metal hexagons.

I have quite a few hexagonal ones lying around. Maybe I'll give them a go. :P

So by the sounds of it it doesnt really matter, but round is prefered. I'll stick with square for a short while and order some round bases soon.

Thankyou
:)

Just model mounds of dead players at the feet of all your players and dispense with bases completely.

Actually, a firend of mine created a circular base model of skulls (using the individual plastic skulls found in Warhammer Quest or other GW fanatsy models) and used it as a master for a mold for resin casting. Then he created a bunch of the skull bases for his 40K space marine characters...it looks really cool.

Something like that would be cool for an undead team...actually any BB team really.
