After day 1 Mumbojumboist is in front with a healthy 8 point lead over 2nd place (Dutty Dave). He is the only person on 3 wins.

ROCKET BOWL 2009

...and the winner is................

BARNACLES!

First off....a great two days and many thanks to the 22 Coaches that turned up for the inaugral Rocket-Bowl!

Additional thanks go to;

Rolljordan (re: choosengobo) for sending some miniatures as support for prizes.

Pippy for supplying the NAF Trophy for the winner.

And my mate "Penny", who took most of the data inputting strain throughout the weekend.
A close final round, where the top 5 players could have won it.
The Milton Keynes Massive, turned out in force and battled it out lower and lower on the tables to see who was the greatest muppet amongst them!

For those that want to know here are the awards and winners.

1st Place = Barnacles (He took the Trophey, Plaque, Lava Effect Boards and Glow in the dark Sci-Fi Dice as winnings)
A close one as it was tied on points with only 1 TD in goal difference between him and Mumbojumboist

2nd = Mumbojumboist (Taking a 16 man Slann Team by Rolljordan, Glow in the dark dice and Plaque)

Runner Up (3rd) = Jimjimany ((Plaque, and a Rolljordan figure)

Best Painted Team = Cracol (Trophey and Plaque)
Winning team was his Orcs the "Green Machine"

Red Card Rebel = Antipixi (Trophey, Miniature, Plaque)
Antipixi went out all guns for this award from game 1! Averaging nearly 7 Sent-Off players a game he clearly walked away with th award with a grand total of 47 red cards! His closest rival scoring a comparitavely small 17 Red Cards!

Most Abused = Gazza (Trophey, Plaque)
Proving that the old can be beaten to a pulp, Gazzas' team received 30 CAs against him! Bless!

Most CAS = Lucifer (Trophey, Plaque)
A stunning 25 Casualties, winning a tie off with a NET CAS of +22!!

Most TD = Jimjimany (Trophey, Plaque)
Young Jim managed to score 20 TD over the 6 rounds to claim the prize.

Defender Award = Lucifer (Trophey, Plaque and ASBO "Being Boring")
Another close award, with lucifer just claimimg the Trophey with 4 Clean sheets to the other coach with 3!

Stunty Cup = Dontcallmeflossy (Trophey, Plaque and ASBO "Clever Dick")
The four attending Stunty teams fought it out through all 6 games right down to the wire. Antipixi loosing out just.

Wooden Spoon = Gazza (Trophey and ASBO "Disgracing Yourself in Public!")
Not only crap in Milton Keynes but crap at the Rocket-Bowl! Gazza (A.K.A Grandad) proved his worthlessness by collecting the tournament Spoon!!

A quick photo snap of some of the Prizes!

Top notch, Pug - had a great time (even if antipixi never shut up for the whole ride home that his gobbos had finished on the same score as me thanks to the sendings off points  )

Fantastic pug. The prizes were fantastic, especially considering how cheap entry was. This is definitely on my list for next year.

A great event, I enjoyed this a lot, well organised and the handouts at the end were a nice touch. Thanks to all my opponents for being such decent chaps. :)

However ...
Pug wrote:1st Place = Barnacles ... A close one as it was tied on points with only 1 TD in goal difference between him and Mumbojumboist
The handout says Barnacles had a net TD of +6 and mumbojumboist a net TD of +9.

You're one to talk about numbers!

In my boredom at work today, I checked the NAF site to see how everybody had gotten along, and it seems you packed in a 7th game compared to everyone else's 6 this weekend!

Couldn't even win with dirty cheating! Typical Team Paincake... ;)

Good to read it went well Pug, will do my best to come back to the 'Shire next year. Looks like everyone had a great time.

I think he meant difference in goals scored, because Barnacles scored more. Wasn't 100% clear in the original ruleset, but I guess Score must have been programmed that way for this tourney originally.

What a lie! I wasn't even in the car for the twenty minutes to your house after dropping me off! That constitutes approximately 18% of the journey that I was not pointing out that despite taking a competitive team you failed to score more tourney points than a gobbo team who lost 5 games and drew 1!

Cheers Pug and everyone there for a good laugh and the humbling 8-0 defeat by Joe in round 5. :o

The mini foam rockets where a good touch!

I have just ripped a post it note off my "to do board" with "Joe/Pixi - check result is right - not CAS score". Sorted.
