I'll be arriving in Oostende at around 22:00, which is too late to check in to 'De Ploate', so who else will be staying there and getting drunk in Oostende until late (AND has a key to the Hostel!)?

Not staying at the ploate myself this year, but contact Dries and/or Sjapie. I read on the belgian forum they're arranging a key and sheets for someone else as well.

Gorbad, Have you already booked at The Ploate. We have someone booked there under the name bloodbowl, but we don't have a name. We'll make sure we've got the key to the room so everybody can get into their room. This does mean that we need to know who is coming to the hostel this year.

For everyone else:
These are the people that we know of that have currently booked a room at The Ploate. I have confirmed these bookings with the hostel:
Dave Downes
Paul Gegg
Joe Hainstock
David Candlish
Steven Van De Perre
Gercon Goncalves
Johnathan Iotta
Rob-Bert Valkeneers
A Mysterious person by the name of Bloodbowl (internet booking)

There is still plenty of place in the youth hostel, but they need to know if you're coming or not.

For those coming over on friday, in the club, we've foreseen pastry (free) for both club members and Brassbowl participants. Saturday noon we'll have sandwiches available. On Sunday afternoon we'll serve spaghetti. For vegetarians, we'll have a vegetarian spaghetti option.

The Chicken shack has also been warned we'll be coming over on Saturday night.

In case anybody needs to contact me concerning the tournament, you can do so on my cellphone ++32/476/96.28.92. You can also use Dries' but he's currently not very talkative (he's got a severe cold on his larynx).

I reserved via e-mail in De Ploate. I don't think I am a mysterious person called Bloodbowl, but who knows?

But as I see that some of our English friends are in the hostel as well, and are also known for staying out way past any regular hours, I don't see any problems :)

Day 1 has finished and it is pretty tight at the top, but the big game for tomorrow is on table 4 where Indigo's Undead play Valen's goblins :o

Great tournament as always. It was probably the best edition I have attended so far (How on earth did you guys do that?). Special thanks to Sjapie and Dries.

Next year I have to remember bringing my Ambi-Pur Garlic/Paprika (Patent Pending Leipziger) to drive away the smell of the kitchen.

Big thanks to Dries and Christoff (and support) for organizing. It was a blast! Loved the format, and especially the effect it had on the races taken. After three rounds I think there were Khemri, Nurgle, Vampires, Orcs, Humans and even goblins in the top ten!

Thanks to my opponents as well for five enjoyable matches.

I played against Greg (Chaos, won), Peter (Dark Elves, won), Mats (Nurgle, tied), Joe (Humans, won) and Gavin (Goblins, won) in that order.

Of course I did have my share of luck. Against Greg it was mostly the fact that ST5 is higher than ST4 which clenched the deal. Against Peter I had to resort to passing after he rolled his second blitz, so I kinda felt I deserved for that to work 8) Beside that this game was won on knocking out Dark Elves. I think my game against Mats was balanced. He got the first half, I got the second. Most of my luck went into the game against Joe, where I really wasn't able to break his line without having to resort to shenanigans. The term utter horseshit was used at several points  Against Gavin's Goblins I finally managed to get the casualties rolling and work on my tie breaker. Funnest thing from that game was that with his second to last goblin, Gavin blitzes my Throw-Ra half-diced, stuns him, catches the bounce and runs away. Only to be knocked over again after which the bloody thing gets up, picks up in 2 TZ's and gets 2 squares from my end-zone. I did manage to knock him over at that point and had 3 turns left for my 24 square march to the end-zone

For those interested, my setup was: Guard on a TG, Mighty Blow on a TG and a Blitz-Ra, Block on the Throw-Ra. I took a twelve man roster with 2FF, 1AC and 1CL instead of a thirteenth man and that was a good decision. Thick Skull keeps the skellies on the pitch and having FAME (and more importantly not having +2 FAME against) really helps throughout 5 games. For day two I added Block on the Guard, Might Blow on another TG, Frenzy on the MB Blitz-Ra and Tackle on the other Blitz-Ra. Those were picked knowing I'd play Joe's humans in the morning.
