Second DOUBT - One-dayer, 16 July 2011, Umeå, Sweden

Cheers to Frantic for instilling a second DOUBT when morale failed me...

The DOUBT (Da Open Umeå BloodBowl Tournament) is back in the shape of a one-dayer event in the capital of Norrland, Umeå. We believe this is the northernmost official tourney in the world unless some of the Canadian crowd can prove us wrong. Frantic is the chief for this event, but he has inspired me to take care of PR here and over at the NAF site, plus organizing the Legacy team.

The second DOUBT tournament is loosely laid out as follows (all subject to change):

Four games, Sat July 16th 2011
TV 115, buy your team and your skills (limitations will apply)
Officially neither dusk nor dawn - goths beware
Entrance fee: One painted model eligible to play on a Chaos Pact team, team colours red/black

A number of factors means I wont be returning to this event but I hope you'll have as much fun as last year!

Yes, we DO realise that a lot of our travelling coaches will feel that the long journey to Umeå will be less motivated for a one-dayer event. However, this format was chosen to attract the large number of Umeå coaches with families that opted out of the two-day event last year, based on feedback we got from the first DOUBT. Personally, I would very much have liked this year's event to be a full weekend, but we will try and build a more solid fanbase on our home turf first. In the future who knows, we might be able to return to a full-blown tourney weekend.

Results: Odium Khan beat GunnarBranden (aka RollingSnakes) in the final, the latter having failed to injure a single dark elf for the whole game, the former scoring the winning TD in turn 16 by sacking the ball deep in their own half and elfballing it for 22 squares total. Nuffle has had his say.
