Bilbali Cup VIII - 23th and 24th of July 2011. Bilbao, Spain

Post by Kafre es Ispurio »

Hello,

We wish to add the Bilbali Blood Bowl Cup (BBBC) to this summers schedule of international Blood Bowl championships. The Championship will be held near Bilbao (mostly known by the Guggenheim museum) the coming 23th and 24th of July.

You can access to the Bilbali home page here:

http://www.bilbalicup.com/torneo.php?id ... Pagina=100

Please, be gentle with us, is the first time we try for real to internationalize the tournament - and we don't really know how to speak orcish in English.

Any doubt will be answered in this post or in bilbalicup<at>bilbalicup.com

Thanks.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

With the tournament inscription you will be given all you need to play (gaming field will also be available), so you just have to bring your Blood Bowl team miniatures, your team roster – if it isn’t already on the web – and some glue. For all those who do the pre-inscription, please, complete in the website your team rosters. Empty Team Rosters will also be available for those who haven’t been able to introduce their roster via website. However, coaches are asked to fill out their team roster on the web in advance, as the organization intends to print and give them at the time of registration.

Thus, since you only have to care about the minis, we expect them to be neat and to give a great image on the field.

FORMAT

The tournament will be Swiss type, Resurrection with six rounds and final.

The first round the matches will be randomly created. From then on, coaches will be paired by classification order. This means that the first coach classified will play the second one, the third the fourth one and so on. The only exception to this rule is that two coaches that have already played between them cannot play again, unless it is the Final. If at any time you are paired with someone that you have already played against let the organization know so that a new opponent is assigned.

After the fifth round the two player with the highest number of points will play the Final (this match will have overtime if needed). So, five rounds will be played and after those a final sixth round in which the two top ranked after the fifth round will be playing for the victory and the glory. The rest of players will try to get the League Championship. There are other titles, but lets face it: Who cares? (You can find them at the end of this document.)

MINIATURES

All team miniatures must represent clearly their position and raze and can be from any line of miniatures of any brand, personal conversions or any other type as long as they represent without any kind of doubts what they are. The organization will take the necessary actions if any team leads to confusion in the kind or position of the miniatures. Ball papers, dices or cartoons are not acceptable.

Miniatures should also be painted, since it will be the first criteria for tie-breaking (see below).

RULES

Competition Rules Pack will be used. It can be found at the website of GW UK. Other NAF sanctioned teams: Chaos Pact, Slann and Underworld teams can also be used.

TEAMS AVAILABLE

Any of the 24 team races acknowledged by the NAF can be used. These are: Amazon, Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Pact, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Elf, Goblin, Halfling, High Elf, Human, Khemri, Lizardman, Necromantic, Norse, Nurgle, Ogre, Orc, Skaven, Slann, Undead, Underworld, Vampire and Wood Elf.

The following teams are considered as STUNTY TEAMS: Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Underworld with troll and goblins only, Lizardman with kroxigor and skinks only.

As WORLD INNOVATION, in this edition two new teams will be added for those willing to taste new flavours: Skeleton and Zombi team. These teams arent considered stunties, but can win the same trophy as them (take a look at the prizes at the end).

TEAM CREATION

You will have 1.000.000 gold coins (gc) to create your team, that must be used completely. (TV100).

All kind of incentives can be bought with this money (magicians, star players, etc.). All Stunty Teams can get Bribes for 50.000gc (not only Goblins). Halfling Teams can also buy the Great Chef for 50.000gc instead of the usual 100.000gc.

No team is allowed to use the Raise the Dead spell. Instead, the teams that usually could, can buy a Magician as incentive.

SKILLS: Each coach can give six normal skills (no double or attribute) to six different players of his team (each player can have only one extra skill). Stunty Teams can give 5 normal skills and 1 double or six normal, as the rest of the teams.

Note: write the skills chosen and the incentives in the "comment" (comentarios) section when creating your team on the web.

PRE-MATCH SEQUENCE

The Weather: Just in the first round. Given the randomness of the weather in previous editions of the Bilbali Cup - two snowfalls, a bloody monsoon, etc. in the beginning of the first round no Weather roll will be made. Instead of that you will apply the weather seen through the window (The organization will help you to determine the weather). The results of Changing Weather on the Kick-Off table are resolved as usual.

DURING THE MATCH

All the events that happen during the match must be written down in the match record. Once the match ends, both coaches must review the match record and deliver it to the organization. The match records must contain:

- Result.
- Casualties (including those from the crowd, fouls and even self-inflicted).
- Fans.
- Players and coaches (see later) sent off.
- Number of long bombs and long passes.
- Other happy events.

In the first round, the match record must include in a clear way the skills given to each player.

Argue the Call: Every time the referee sends off one of your players as consequence of a Foul Action, you may argue the call. Roll a D6. On a roll of 1 he expels you from the game, so you may not argue any more calls for the rest of the match and he opposing coach gets an additional reroll for this part. This represents you being unable to give orders to your players. On a roll of 2-5 he ignores you and his call stands. On a roll of 6 he accepts your argument, reverses his decision and the player stays on the field. You can"t reroll the Argue the Call roll and the expelled coach counts for the Most Expelled prize (see later)

POST MATCH SEQUENCE

The improvement rolls, the winnings of the match, fan factor changes and other events of the post match sequence will not be taken into account.

After each match, all the team players will return to the state they were before the match. Any injury suffered will be healed automatically, even the death.

OTHER RULES

Tournament duration
The tournament will run over the weekend. Each coach will play 6 matches, each one more humiliating than the previous one. 4 matches will be held on Saturday (2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon) and 2 more on Sunday morning with a huge hangover buzzing in their heads. Thus the coaches will go home on Sunday afternoon to mourn the bitter defeat.

Dices
Coaches aren’t required to use the dice provide by the organization if both coaches agree. Nevertheless, if they don’t reach an agreement in the use of dice, they must use the ones provided by the organization.

Match Time
For time reasons, all matches but the final will have 2 hours to be played. The organization may vary this time if considered appropriate. The coaches will apply the 4 minutes rule if ONE of them wants. As said before, the final will not have time restriction and will be the only match that will have overtime in case of a tie.

Being late
The exact hour of start and end of the round will be announced five minutes before the start of it; taking the organization clock as the only reference for all the matches. If one coach doesn’t appear five minutes after the beginning of the round, will be sanctioned as explained later. If he doesn’t appear and the organization doesn’t know where he is or why he is late, the organization will try to pair his opponent against a new one if possible.

Late-pants sanction - If a coach doesn’t show in his table five minutes after the beginning of the round, the rival coach will:

a. Win the roll to see who sets up first.
b. Count with a +2 to FAME.
c. Make the weather roll in front of a member of the organization.

These measures have to be taken in a punitive and time saving way (intended to reduce the beginning of the match delay)

TOURNAMENT POINTS

Result Points
Winning for 2+ TD 13
Winning for 1 TD 11
Tie 8
Losing for 1 TD 5
Losing for 2+ TD 3
Conceding 0
Don"t show (no excuse)* -1.000

*(Yes, one thousand points less): for don"t showing without a valid excuse (the organization will judge what a valid excuse is).

To resolve any tie, the painting points will be taken into account (logic indicates that the tie will persist), then the TD difference, then the CAS difference, TD for, CAS for, and at last a coin toss.

PAINTING POINTS

Since the organization will provide with everything needed for playing and you only have to bring your team, you better bring it painted!

We encourage all the coaches that take part in the Bilbali to paint their teams, because it is always nicer to play with and against painted teams and because the painting points are the first tie breaking criteria.

The painting points come as follows:

PAINTING POINTS TABLE
Result Points
Nominee to Camilo VI 5
3+ colours, lights, shades, det. bases… 4
3+ colours, simple bases 3
3+ colours, no bases or some
miniature without painting. 1
Primed or w/o any paint* 0*

* The teams with 0 points cannot play in table 1. This is testimonial and doesn"t have any additional implication.

Note: The organization will apply the worst painted miniature point(s) to all the team.
