Blood Bowl Grand Tournament in Baltimore:

Post by Skummy »

Just got my tickets, and it looks like most of my league is going to be showing. Will anyone else here be making the trip?

Sorry, I should have put a relevant link in there somewhere. https://us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?

Looks like it will be on the 7th of March, which is a Friday. They started having a problem registry yesterday, but you can get a ticket with a phone call.

Just ordered my ticket today, and I'm friggin' stoked.

Does anyone have any idea of what the rules will be re: team development or Star Players?

So . . . what races are y'all bringing to the GT? i'm trying to decide between orcs, skaven, and humans (since i can't afford to start up with high elves)

I'll be there for sure. The New Ork 'Blood Bowl' Giants. Orcs baby all the way.

Foola: I'm trying to decide between Lizardmen, Wood Elves and Skaven. I don't play either of the first two in my league, and I'm looking forward to a change of pace. About 6 or 7 other people from my league will be attending, and I know we will be getting a well coached Human team for certain. Of the rest, Lizardman, Dwarf, Orc, and Undead are the most likely.

Proxus: As a Redskin fan, I would say that using the NY Giants as Orcs works pretty well. They have always been the bad guys to me.

tchatter: One of my friends may have ordered two tickets. I'll check with him to see if they're both spoken for. At the very least, with this many going from my league there is a chance of someone backing out last minute. I'll let you know it this happens.

Has anyone recieved their packet from GW yet? I'd like to know the official rules.

Dirty Deadskin fans Blah!:)

Unless you resquested tickets you will not get them. Just show up and tell them your name. The BB rules on the USGW site says make a standard team at 1,000k. I would like to know what time the BB fun will start. I have to drive about 3 1/2 hrs to Baltimore and I need to know when I have to leave. You guys playing 40K or WFB at the GT???

WFB here. Beastmen, pissed off Nurgle beastmen.

Poxous: Oh, you just go ahead and defend the Giants. We both know that Jeremy Shockey is going to pull a Mark Chumura in about 3 years anyway.

Most of our group is purely interested in Blood Bowl, but a few may have signed up for other games. I'm interested in the rules becasue I want to know whether star players are going to be allowed in these games, as they are in the Blood Bowl and at Gencon. The US GW's customer service said our packet would be mailed 3-4 weeks before the tourney... any day now...

nope, no packet here. i was hoping that the GW website would say a little more than "bring a 1m gp team from the LRB". hopefully, the packet will have some worthwhile info, such as rules on stars and how advancements, etc. will be handled.

oh, and i believe it says what time the BB starts on GW's GT page (at least, they'll have the specialist games start time).

Nah he'll be on WWF in three years for sure. I sure hope he turns out for the long haul. NYG hasn't had an offensive threat in .... well... we haven't ever really had one!

I doubt they'd allow star players but I dunno. I've never played in a BB tournie before so I have no clue what to expect. I'm just going to bring a bone crunching team and trying to have fun!

This will be the first sanctioned tournament for everyone in my group as well, although our league has been around for over 5 years. We've got a really good group in our league, and managed to get the Spike, Chaos, Dungeonbowl and Bloodweiser championships done in the last year.

At least your Giants made it to the Superbowl in recent history. The memories of the 1991 season are starting to fade for us Redskin fans. Plus, you've got those irritating upsart Ravens fans to contend with...
